There is no justice if atheism is true

You didn't get that? I wrote:- So let's look at a person who takes their religion seriously, and for example believes that unbelievers can die . ..and you didn't get the point. Oh well..........

There is no justice if atheism is true

Have you ever heard about reinforced prejudice? I researched this condition over many years and wrote articles about it. A customs officer/policeman/store detective reckons that he can pick out bad people on sight, never wrong, and is certain that, say, young men with facial tattoos are always...

There is no justice if atheism is true

So let's look at a person who takes their religion seriously, and for example believes that unbelievers can die . This isn't working too well for you, imo.

There is no justice if atheism is true

So what difference does this belief make to the theist in life, if it doesn't make them a better, lawful, decent, ethical and moral person?

There is no justice if atheism is true

Which is already shown, on both sides of this discussion. Everybody seems to agree that any person of sound reason of mind is capable of deciding what actions are ethical and moral, and which are not. I didn't notice why Aup started this thread but presumably somebody suggested that there is...

There is no justice if atheism is true

There we are, you cannot answer a simple question and so you redirect away from it. Come on, please tell us all which laws are petty and which laws are serious. ??

There is no justice if atheism is true

Well now........ there is life after death, but not as you are claiming, imo. When I die countless billions of atoms will be scattered all over the Thames estuary, so long as my Missus doesn't put them in a pot in the garden. And each and every one of them is teaming with.......life.

There is no justice if atheism is true

Yep..... this^^^^^ And as far as prison statistics go, it's not a bad idea for inmates to claim a religion because this gets them more opportunities to go to various ceremonies, services, etc, to help time pass by. So we could never count the number of true theists being involved in crimes.

There is no justice if atheism is true

That more or less, is what I wrote. My point here is that theists on this thread agree that anybody can make moral judgements for themselves, regardless of theism or atheism. Ergo, Morality (and lawfulness/lawlessness)...... has nothing to do with atheism.

There is no justice if atheism is true

No no....... Divine Justice clearly isn't true, and that surely releases millions of people to live the lives that they want and need to live. You don't know any such thing. Pettiness? You must tell us all which laws are petty and which laws are serious, and how did you receive all this...

There is no justice if atheism is true

But 'divine justice' in afterlife is just crank. Honest, decent, moral men and women being judged because they loved and partnered with their own sex? Divine judgement? That's just one example of how warped the idea is. I think that it has already been established that all and any people can...

There is no justice if atheism is true

I don't think that prison stats offer an accurate picture, wil, because there are benefits in claiming to follow a religion in prison.

Is this a sign of things to come?

I've often heard that all publicity is good publicity. Fifty years ago a small religious group wanted to hold a presentation at Guildford university. Previously they had held presentations but hardly anybody ever came along, but before this event a Baptist Minister made a huge fuss in local...

There is no justice if atheism is true

OK A definition which fits for us all, atheists, theists, agnostics and any others. This thread addresses 'No justice if atheism is true' and given the above definition of 'morality' that proposal is busted. Imo Anybody of sound mind can have an opinion about right and wrong even if those...

    Waiting for the Freeze!

A friend did go to a Catholic school, I remember he said it was very tough. My school was a grant in aid public school, had log burners on every class and the dormitories were just cold. Yeah. 62 winter just went on and on.

    Waiting for the Freeze!

Whatever and however our weather is changing, the bottom line is all about dirt in our oceans, in our air and anywhere else. It makes such sense to get cleaner.....trouble is, making and then recycling all those batteries is going to be a dirty job. The power supply crisis has affected us all...

    Waiting for the Freeze!

I remember the winter of 62, spent in a freezing boarding school with no central heating. And I remember the drought and heat of 76 when I saw 'dust-devils' whirling across the fields for the first time. You can be sure that when the sea level begins to rise that we will be reminded that it...

There is no justice if atheism is true

Yeah. Making love to a loved partner or spouse........heaven. Comfort after extreme agony.... heaven. Playing with a loved pet....heaven. A glass of water after great thirst....heaven. That teacher, though. I don't know about that. The fat maths teacher (Manthorpe...long since deceased)...

There is no justice if atheism is true

That is the best answer you could have given. Exactly....'What is the meaning of 'moral righteousness'. I asked because I have absolutely no clue what 'moral means, exactly. I think that words like moral, immoral and righteous are adaptable to fit with most folks' mindsets and actions.
