This is close to the redwoods and i love walking in the forest.

Napa, and the PCH, are other stories...quite beautiful indeed...although Napa is quite some distance away, no? That whole San Jose to San Francisco thing was never my cup of tea, but a lot of people do like it through there. I finally made it to the redwoods a few years back...photos do not do them justice...and I hope to make it to see the bristlecones at some point in my life. But the redwoods are a couple hours at least from Gilroy, over the Diablo mountains and across the Central valley and up the side of the Sierras.
I'm sorry you thought my advice pessimistic...just reminiscing about old stomping grounds. I love walking in the forest too, and there is no forest like the Sequoia forest. Gilroy though, is not forest.
If you're over that way anyhow, an interesting little touristy sidebar is the town of Cholame. They have a monument that reflects the place James Dean crashed and died. My car broke down there once.

However, mee does have one saving grace. Mee makes me/us read and find the truth.
Mee's presence here does us all a favor, because we tend to look up what is being said to validate or refute that which is taughted as truth...
I think mee should continue to stick around, and provide us with the "truth" as mee sees it. At the least, we learn something.

or perhaps that to have a bible and quote it up is what is pure?
but what if the selfish mee me shares an incorrect interpretation?
such as to suggest or act as if it is OK to fib about a story claiming truth as long as the biblical interpretation is the same but reality shares it is a fib. For example: the bible shared as the word of God when in fact every word is a creation of man/woman in all cases. ( a clear fact)
that list of fibs can go on forever.....
