Grand Old Man of N American Theology dies

Juan,

You are entitled to your opinion. I do not share it.

This thread "Grand Old Man of N American Theology dies" is in the News section. The title would suggest everybody would know him.... but apparently not. When I saw he was a Dulles my curiosity was piqued and I looked at the relationship angles involved.

He was not just a cardinal he was a Dulles and to my, or what you might call my "fevered conspiracy theory driven" brain I saw this as a pretty pertinent aspect of his life. Dulles is one of the more prominent names to crop up again and again in 20th and 21st century politics and that in my opinion is worth chiming in with.

The man was 90 and died in comfort, lucky him. Many many many people have died indirectly by the actions of his family and maybe even directly by CIA rubber stamping of executions. Not died in comfort at 90+ but died brutally and prematurely. I know where my sympathies lay.

Fair enough. My gripe is not with what you had to say, but the manner and place in which you said it.

If you were to post that Richard Dawkins passed away yesterday, I might think the world is a better place without him. But I would not get in your face about it by posting what I think on a thread you posted noting Dawkins passing.

I might, after what I felt was a decent amount of time (a day? a week? a month?, hard to say...) start a different thread to get my thoughts about Dawkins off my chest.

*Manners* is my opinion. I'm sorry you do not share it.

Richard Dawkins and myself will both pass away fairly soon..... If we are not burnt to ashes we will be consumed by billions of organisms and thus transmuted back into the living. What is the Buddhist statute on a maggot ? Have wings will fly ;) The corpulence of "the breed" is never far away. Natural death and decay are the inevitable consequences of birth and growth. A fair price to pay in my opinion, yet not enough for most it would seem.
