Hi I found this forum by accident so to say. I was looking for information on Meister Eckhart (The great christian mystic) and I got a thread on this forum as one of my results. I was happy to see that I had found a forum that recognized and discussed a plurality of religions. I've been looking for a forum like this for a while, so I am glad that I did.

About me: I am 25 years old theologian with 2 years left before finishing a 6 year theology degree which allows me to become an ordained priest. I'm on the liberal side of the theological spectrum and I'm interested in other religions and philosophies, and especially in a healthy respectful dialogue between them.

Have a merry Christmas. :)

Welcome. The very first thread I started here was regarding Eckhart. earl

Namaste Selaphiel,

Welcome to IO. If I may ask, ordained as a priest in _________? And you'll find I take liberals and literalls literally liberally. (don't ask me what that means, my fingers said it)
Welcome to InterFaith! I believe Thomas is our resident priest in training, you and he may share a lot in common.
Now I am sitting here ready to be corrected but as Thomas is headed for theologian, as married with children I don't think that is Catholic Priest material.

Ordained as a priest in the Norwegian state church (yes, we still have that here) which is a Lutheran protestant church. So I can marry and have children as well :)

Hi Wil —

Spot on!

A question I am often asked is "does that mean you'll be a priest when you finish?" To which I answer, "Well if it does, don't tell the wife! And if it does, for God's sake don't tell my bishop about the wife, either!"

Greetings, Selaphiel!

Thomas

Healthy respectful dialogues often involve putting a trashcan over one's head for protection and then swinging a bat like crazy -- inside of a padded room. Pleased to meet you.
