The noble art of existential modernity or a decent into the apocalyptic/noah'n chasm?

For the record..... I'd rather surf to hell than believe in a god that needs evangelism.

How pathetic would that be.........a god that needs my worship!!!!! ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.......

lol, a thread i cannot remember starting.... must have been indulging in hedonism

As every man that has been around for a while and having retained an open mind has come to learn; God does not require worship, only goddesses do.

Would you care to expound upon this a little? Why goddesses? Because they are female, or for other reasons? Just curious.

Over the years the age old expression that "Man is in the image of God" has been changed to "God is in the image of Man." This naturally makes Gods and Goddesses guilty of the same sins we are.

The classic male sin is false pride or imagined self importance. In contrast the classic female sin is vanity or the dominance of physical appearance over the importance of the "Inner Man" or the potential of our "being."

Self importance likes to be praised where vanity seeks to captivate by appearance or to be worshipped. It is not surprising then that these gods and goddesses we create should reflect our own psychological limitations.

As much fun as a hedonistic lifestyle may seem in the beginning, in the end you usually feel empty and uncomfortable because once you've tried it all there's no longer anything to live for. Hence, I see it as mostly negative, although IMO everyone should go through a hedonistic period at least a year of his life (best around the age of 20) to know what he's talking about ;)
