Quotes

There's a lot of variations on this one floating around:

"Don't tell God about your problems, tell your problems about God!" Unknown Quoter

Here's a quote paraphrased from Mark Twain's writings that is near and dear to my heart:

"Fiji, a perfect home for the bruised spirit of men who have fought and failed in the struggle for life."

No clue where this originated but variations have been used in song lyrics to inspiration speaking. Regardless - A mainstay for me.
"It is the things you do that you don't have to do that determine the difference when it is too late to do anything else about it..."

Sweet... And the more things you do like that...eliminate it ever being too late to do....because it was already done.

I would like to live like that....

Instead my adage is... If you wait till the last minute, it only takes a minute.

I think yours works better.

Okay if we are going to get all serious about this quote stuff, here's a very good one. Don't compare your inner life with someone else's outer life.

Now you've shared, I've shared and Wil shared. Reminds me about three umpires I overheard: Ump one - "I call 'em the way I sees 'em." Ump two - "I call 'em the way they are." Ump three - "They ain't nothin' until I calls 'em!" Good 'uns y'all...:)

"A man's faith is his own. It's for no man to criticize nor for any man to take away"
I've always liked that one. My dad, being the raging alcoholic that he was, came up with some colorful sayings, but I wouldn't call any of them inspirational. Like:

"Everyone needs to eat a bushel of dirt before they die"

Never did know what the hell that was suppose to mean. It stuck with me though and when he died the first thought that popped into my head was that he must have finished the last spoon full.

Then, there's this gem he spewed forth whenever someone accused him of being drunk:

"You're not drunk until you're laying in the gutter"

I remember him coming home one day with a large bandage on his thumb saying a bus had run over it. Of course we wanted to know how such a thing could happen. He then told us that he'd been laying in the gutter. When asked why, he finally admitted for the first time that he was indeed drunk.

"Each man harbors the belief that he is right, but only God holds that title..." Sign at Church entrance

"To the dignified station of love I was raised,
And from the favours of the people I was freed.
Like a candle I was melted in this assembly,
By being burnt, in the divine mysteries I was initiated."

by Sarmad

A little limerick I wrote a while back:

"For your body you are the owner,
but the soul within is just a loaner.
So avoid all sinful ambition,
for God expects it back in good condition."

Here's a quote from my CB-Radio days, signing off.

"Keep your shiny side up and your greasy side down." KAIP-6951 we're 10-7
