Hello!

I'm the Miami Interfaith Spirituality Examiner, and I just joined this fantastic site today. It's very refreshing to find a site where people from all different backgrounds are having open, respectful discussions. I've spent over 20 years studying nine major Teachings: Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Indigenous, Jewish, Muslim, New Age, Pagan, and Taoist. I've learned a lot, but as Charlie Brown said, "The more I learn, the more I learn how much more I have to learn." :)

Looking forward to some great discussions!

Thanks,
Dr. Deb

Namaste Dr. Deb,

Respectful, we try, yet hairs get raised and who knows what gets thrown around the room when we can't see them... needless to say thou, there are a few keyboards that get treated a little rough...

But discussion...happens.

Hi there Dr. Deb, great web page, I look forward to learning more about life at the center of the wheel.

Hello! :)

Does this mean that you are scoring our posts? If so here is an apple for teacher!

I too would like to know where this great site is you've discovered.

Snoopy.

Ah, so you come from a big family as well eh? :D

Watch out for the Catholics (there are three of them). Two are kind of boisterous, but the third one is a "sleeper"...you never know when she will pop up.

(sorry Thomas, I didn't mean we were boisterous...I meant we were openly verbose)

Hi everyone,

I, Brian: Thanks!

citizenzen: Let me know if you want to be the Paradise Wikipedia Examiner.

Alex P..... you scare me, man. ;-)

wil: namaste, and thanks for the heads-up; I will guard my keyboard accordingly...

greymare: gday -- *love* the sailboat photo!

Avi1223: Thanks for checking out my site, Avi -- come back soon! :)

Summia: Ooooh, sounds like we have very similar interests! Which forum threads are you following?

Snoopy: I tried to view the album on your site, but I got this error message: "To be able to view Albums your post count must be 10 or greater." So, um, the cover of your album looks very cool and I look forward to looking at the whole thing soon!

Quahom1: I will tread lightly as you have recommended, yielding to the greater forum wisdom of the poster of *8,872* messages (wow!)... also I see online that "Hôm qua" means "yesterday" in Vietnamese, but I'm curious about "Quahom?"

Tao Equus: Thank you! And don't worry -- I'm married to a non-believer and I often seek his non-biased seal of approval before posting anything. I just asked him no more than 30 minutes ago to read over a PURELY New Age article that would make any non-believer squirm with discomfort (don't read it) and I just wanted to be sure that my husband wouldn't think that anyone would find it offensive. Regarding the neurology study, I know a fair amount about statistics and research methodology, psychology, philosophy, and cardiology, but neurology isn't my area so I figured I'd just defer to the good doc who was the primary author of the research. :) Do you have additional information about that study that shows it's junk science? I'm always happy to yank an article if it's misleading!

Alex P: Ohhhh, the serial killer reference was Dexter -- LOL! Gotcha. No, I've never seen it. OK, that explains the serial killer thing.... can I ask about the mask in your profile photo?

Lol, ironic, but it is close. It means human male child, before the age of ascention. I suppose for me that would have indeed been "yesterday".

Ah me as a kid... I used to wear it when I was DJ'ing... It's the face of another favourite serial killer of mine ;) Jason Voorhees.. I came across a real old website I made ages ago lol and being stoked that loads of my old files were there I now use the images I found there also pretty much everywhere I go lol...

I like masks.... We all wear them....

Welcome Dr Deb no need to fear dear Alex .. hes probably one of the nicest guys here.Dont tell him I said that, though. He likes to act all tough.

Josh: Thanks for telling me what Quahom means -- I think it's a cool username, and I'm already learning some great things here!

Alex: I completely agree that we all wear masks, and you don't scare me anymore. :)

Faithfulservant: Thanks for your note, and I promise I won't tell Alex you said anything. ;-) The picture in your profile reminds me of the classic "Footprints" poem.

Edit, had a quick look at your site and would say that this story,
http://www.examiner.com/x-7312-Miami-Interfaith-Spirituality-Examiner~y2009m4d24-Prayer-and-meditation-boost-brain-power-slow-aging
is junk science not good science. You can call me the check and balance section ;)

Tao, I love the "in your face" stuff :D

I am not sure this is junk science. Here is the author's bio:

www.andynewberg.com

He looks like a qualified M.D.

And I think there might be a connection between prayer and brain function. Do you dispute biofeedback ?

Isn't it great to have a debate in an intro. post :) ?
