This site ROCKS!

So why does he have a problem with me posting comments that are critical of Islam? Since we met he's been on my case. He even held back my reply to Muslimwoman and I had to post it again. Thats how we started out. All that made me think he's a Muslim or something.

He shouldnt discourage people from posting critical comments about Islam.

"People" havent had a beef with me. Its only Wil and the few muslims on this board.

Waleed,

I am not a Muslim, nor do I moderate the Islamic board, hence why I cannot approve and have not concealed any of your messages on that board.

I've simply pointed out your line of discussion is not of an interfaith nature. I've suggested that you rethink your ways in order to remain here. As I've never banned anyone, odds are it won't be me that decides if you stay or go....but you will.

We have had lots of trouble with people who come in here just wanting to push their own stuff and not dialogue with anyone.
Its a forum. A forum is a place where people can exchange views, ask questions and have discussions. The people you're refering to are the ones who were copy pasting stuff from Islamic websites. Rules were made to keep those people away. Chill out a little bit and relax.

Just for everyone else's information, you havent been saying a lot of positive cheerful things either.
Currently you're arguing with C0de here, about Islam:

You've been saying Islam is barbaric and so on:
bob x said:
For moral guidance, why should we be looking to ANYBODY from barbaric past eras?

Now you're threatening me saying that I will go. Great!

I havent seen anyone else in the moderating team besides you objecting to anything I've posted.

Why dont you talk to bob_x here? He's saying Islam is barbaric and so on:
http://www.interfaith.org/forum/wikileaks-british-muslim-students-would-13445-3.html#post237080

Who instead think that this concept of a human producing a book which is pure words-of-God is as archaic and barbaric as the concept of settling a political dispute by mass murder or punishing crime with bodily mutilations or settling domestic dispute with a good beating?
How is this more interfaith than what I've been saying? I dont see you saying anything to Bob. Why?

Who is in command here and how do I talk to them? I'm being treated unfairly by you because I'm new. Its the old "beat up the new comers and show them whose boss because I feel bad about my own life".

Let me know some names so I can message them, preferably someone who visits the boards more frequently. It looks like Brian does not. His last post was on 12/18.

Waleed,

It is my opinion that Wil is simply being Wil. And he is not a Muslim. He is a good guy that dislikes conflict of any sort. And he is one of those new breed of liberal Unitarianists that go to a church where people of any faith are welcome. I think when he see's your posts he perhaps groans and thinks "oh no - not another muslim basher".

Wil,

As someone who has tasted a ban on several occasions now you can imagine what I feel about it. Waleed has by now proven himself to be an articulate and knowledgeable critic of Islam who carries out that mission without any of the ad hominem's that mark out the posts of myself or bob or c0de. I can see no reason to moderate and frustrate him to the point where he feels justifiably that you are on a mission. Farhan has now many times posted (published) his support of violent jihad on these pages, an illegal act in the UK and this is a UK site. Yet I have never seen him moderated. Whether or not you agree Islam is seen by many as a barbaric totalitarian disease and that is a valid interfaith argument. If it was not then it would not be a persistently recurring theme here. Now you can try to stifle this but trying to do so would be futile. And it would leave a site with 3 or 4 people passively nodding their heads at each other. Is that what you want? If you dont like it do not get involved (you rarely do anyway) but do not try to cut peoples tongues out. That just makes you a book burner.

Best wishes for 2011

David

I don't think you have made a single friend here.

...and bob x is welcome to hold any opinion that bob x wishes to. But you can't know it's the truth, because bob x can only speak for bob x. bob x cannot speak for anyone else.

The site belongs to "I, Brian". Look on the front page of the forums - near the bottom is View Forum Leaders. These are your mods. Contact I, Brian (he's here intermittently) or the mods through here.

@ Diagoras, thanx, I think....

@ Waleed, I'm not threatening you I'm trying to inform you.

Its not my sandbox, but I have been around long enough to see what gets folks in trouble on the playground.

Uh, that's really absurd, as you would know if you knew Wil at all. But that's the beef that people have had with you, that you were completely unwilling to take some time to get to know who you're dealing with before you start heavy blasting.

Did someone say heavy blasting? Why wasn't I invited? :p

The Koran also says a few things about praying to God for right guidance when reciting the Koran, as Satan will try to lead many astray. It says that those who do not obscure their faith with wrongdoing are rightly guided.

and still and yet again she amazes me with her ability to find everything at the tip of her fingers.

Happy New You SG

As someone who has tasted a ban on several occasions now .....

Is this who I think it is? LoLz !! I had my suspicions, but didn't care enuff to voice them. I guess now that fully explains why he's so obsessed with Islam-bashing and "c0de's ad hominems" (while blindly ignoring his own.)

try to cut peoples tongues out. That just makes you a book burner.

Calling it "book burning" is just an intellectually dishonest way of saying only your own opinions of hate matter, to the detriment of everybody else, and that no rules should apply that seek to look after the interests of the many, as opposed to the few.

This is a website dedicated to trying to bring together people of different faiths to allow for constructive dialogue between them.

It does not have a big sign on the front of the website that says

Atheists: Please come in and shout your heads off about how much you hate everybody else, and then demand that doing so is a God-given right to Free Speech

It really doesn't say that at all.

Instead we offer a code of conduct that insists only on civility and basic mutual respect. That's required when dealing with people of many different, and often conflicting, religious and spiritual backgrounds.

People who can't accept those basic ideals, and wish to actively work against them, obviously have no place on this website.

The internet is a big place. Feel free to set up your own website with your own community rules. You can easily make your voice heard there as you wish.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh What have I missed????????????????????
It seems while I was drifting in the cybersea, you children have really been mucking up!!!!
If you dont behave, you'll be grounded AGAIN, thats it!!! No playstation, no nintendo!!
Now, shake hands! Agree to disagree! But, fair dinkum, play nice, or dont play at all!!

(my point is, not all religions can be wholey correct, (or is that holy correct?) and not every person can 100% agree. Listen to each other, respect each other, you might just learn something!!)

(and I am especially thankful to Brian for this site, for obvious reasons) LOL

Love The Grey............SHE'S BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interfaith is about finding commonalities and exploiting them to create an environment where we can all live together.

It is not about finding issues with others religions and denying them post after post.
Interesting. Up to a few years ago, marriage involved the discovery of a difference, and exploiting that difference to create an environment where we could live together. I tend to view faith and interfaith in a similar light, but to each his own I guess.

namaste luecy7,

Heck, I could be wrong, heavens knows I've been wrong before.

This was my response to someone who just insisted on swinging. There was no marriage intended or wanted, he simply wanted to put down, belittle and ridicule folks with other beliefs.

I was simply indicating this was not the intent of this forum.

i agree - i think his views are appalling. however, it would just be too easy for me to do it, because it would feel like it was a personal thing given his particular attitude to jews. i would prefer it if someone else took the view that there was a case to answer, but so far, it seems to be tolerated. however, i don't feel like it is entirely my decision to make.
