I used to make homemade ice cream all the time. My issue was how hard it was to store homemade ice cream. It crystallizes quickly when frozen and can get really hard. Found out that adding bourbon, vodka, rum, etc. fixes the issue. You don't need to add much. Just a couple teaspoons.
