Science have grown much higher than man can ever think, we have theories and explanation for almost every quires. Man thinks that he knows everything and he have answers for

every query. Do he know what is a religion, who is god, where he is?. No one have time, No one will put effort to guide others, everyone are selfish in one or other aspects.

The human, the only physical creatures with the ability to think, reason, plan and design, come to conclusions based on acquired knowledge!! But he is Duff. Why he is not

thinking in the right path. Do we need religion, do we need prophets, do we need man-god, if all of those end up in fights for power and wealth.
Every single prophets /man-god have tried to bring peace and prosperity, they have tried to guide us to right path, but we never try to learn what intension was there. All

religions are good, but we should understand what it is , before following it. Never blindly believe whatever religions follow. Try to interpret it and try to understand what

prophets/man-god actual intension was.
Let me make it my intension clear before continuing......"I want to bring all members who thinks alike under one window, which can help create a vibration of love and peace, to

make this world a better place to live on." Or guide to a group/forum where i can share my ideas and help this world to attain peace and prosperity.

Not sure if this is just a cheap shot advert..... Or something you really wish to discuss here.....

Religion is simply a matter of one's opinion, and the status/stability of ones personality and mentality. I say no, No religion isn't needed.... The next person along will tell you yes we do need it.... And we're both correct. :)

Religion is simply a personal preference..... You either choose it or you don't and when/if you do, there is a rainbow of types of religions so we can suit -ourselves- and find one we like the most lol, or one that caters to our personality/ego needs/wants desires/dreams... You want it? We got it!! roll up, roll up! You touch, you buy. a mind **** heh.

Seriously... It's pathetic... And you laugh at those that believed in Zeus and Mars and Saturn and Hades and Hecules... And whoever... Yet cry and throw your toys out the pram when someone laughs at you and your god......... Primitive thoughts have no use to me.

Now watch this space.... And compare my post to anothers, we're both right remember ;)

Science ain't all that matey..... lol....

we had another thread someone started to form a new religion...

what the heck is wrong with festivus?

suddenly though the idea is scratching at me!

Religions exist because science can never answer this questions,

What happens after death, does soul exist?

I think it is more to the point that people usually don't like the direction that science leans towards in answering such questions.

Thanks for your comment.
We should come to a conclusion about the intension of the religion. Its not serving its purpose, then why should we follow them. Its not right to follow some religion because our ancestor do believe in that. Try to understand the purpose of the religion and go ahead.

17, you are doing an excellent job facilitating this thread, keep up the good work ;).

All you need is Mr. Sexy Pizza back for some comic relief :) !!

I don't think we need religion so much as we have needs that religions address. What I am suggesting here is that human needs are satisfied to some extent by religion, but secular ways of life could (in theory) provide the same benefits, although perhaps in different ways.

For instance, we all need to deal with the reality of death. Religion may attempt to address this need by positing an afterlife. A secular approach might be to help people to stoically accept their finitude.

The secular approach might not satisfy all people, and so I suspect religion will be with us for a long time to come.

Last time I checked matey, Science may not have the answer, but offers theories.... And well... That is exactly what religion does... It offers a theory.... It isn't a proven answer now is it???

I agree, folks that follow blindly on family tradition leave me baffled, but that is what floats their boat...to them the purpose is keeping themselves in the will, or some social pleasantries that keep the dinner table happy.

If religion did not serve a purpose, people wouldn't show up and it would dry up on its own...

I think it comes down to what information you have digested. If you are stupid enough to think all truth can be found in one volume then you are never going to have anything approaching some understanding of the actual complexity around us. If you have no inkling of that complexity it is like pretending to be a brain surgeon when you cannot even lace your shoes. And if you do have some inkling of the complexity then you know you know nothing.

Sems like we need science to know how to make a gun and religion to know when to use it appropriately.

Great idea! Religion without address. But will that work?

Mark, your assuming that it's a fact that there is no God, and no afterlife, lol, like the idea of God is just a lovely bedtime story to assuage the children's fears. But the proof of the puddin goes both ways. There is no proof that there is a God, sure. But there is also no proof that there isn't. Of course, you could start a religion around the concept that there is no God. But it's just another choice of religion, and maybe not the right one. Who knows? Do we really need another religion for that? I mean, we've got atheism. That's pretty much a religion nowdays, and a highly favored one, lol.

But maybe you have something there. People need something. And a religion that covers the theory that there is no God, puts a social umbrella over the atheists heads. So it could do some good. *shrugs* I dunno. I'm happy with my understanding of God, or rather, my theory of God. I don't need religion. But everybody else can deal however they like, lol.
