Kind of off topic, but what is up then with those Chinese subs popping up in the middle of training exercises in the Pacific????????????
Bit of an embarrassment that is....isn't it?
Kind of a big obsolete dinosaur then....hmmmm.

The military is just organized terrorists for the most part.
War is SH!T.

Let me tell all of you something. I am a man of means. I am an officer in the military, the most powerful military force on earth. My uniform is ironed crisp and not designed for crawling around the floor, nor is my demeanor.

Thought Bush moved you guys out of DoD and under Homeland Security. While I agree you defend the shores, are you technically still military or truly law enforcement? You are also one of the uniformed services like the Public Health Service which has a Surgeon GENERAL and mirrors the Navy in ranks and pay, but they are clearly not military but defending us from other evil germs...

But...I bend my knee in deference to God, and I don't care what happens to my dress blues or my whites, just because they happen to come in contact with the ground...that isn't groveling. It is simply respect, where respect is due. That, is worshipping God.

I will tell you another thing. David, the most powerful of kings, went before the Lord, dancing and leaping in wild abandon...such was his happiness to be in the presence of the Lord... and he, was worshipping

There ya go, to each his own. You bend the knee, up and down in service, and I'll dance and celebrate.

Thats about where i finish agreeing with you, Shawn.
If the military is organised terrorists, then so must the police and law enforcement be!!!
Just because we dont hear about the ways that the military protect us everyday, and all we seem to hear about is the bad stuff, doesnt mean it doesnt happen.
I for one, am glad and proud that there are those that would put their lives on the line for mine.

That is why I hedged my statement with: " for the most part ".
Our modern military machine in our world is excessive and the fires they put out are contrived and manufactured in many cases and encouraged in others.
I do however have a great respect for the engineer division as they can build pretty much anything, anywhere.

As to the grovelling bit, people go overboard on so many things.
Where it says we are to "fear" the Lord it means more....to hold in awe and have respect for.
