Of China that is. Hard to get a decent job in America for a recent college graduate.

I'm a new member. Originally from Seattle (the best city in America) but I have spent quite a bit of time in Kolkata (the best city in India) and Wellington, NZ.

I'm working on a controversial religious/philosophical book, it's available online, would love any feedback:

Universal Syncretism (UniversalSync)

Thanks and have a wonderful day. And life.

Hi Baba, and welcome to the Forum.

By the way, Baba means old hag in Japanese....

Which part of China are you in? I am in Yiwu City, Zhejiang Province, three hours south of Shanghai by car.

welcome Baba. So how is it you ended up in China? For that matter, Nick, how is it you ended up in China? earl

Earl,

Baba alluded to it, but let me make it clearer. The American economic meltdown has caused a lot of people -- myself included -- to lose our jobs in America. For many of us, the best job we can find is an English teaching job overseas. So here we are.

English teaching jobs are hard to find in places like Japan, but there are still English teaching jobs availabe in China.

hello baba, have been skimming your excellent book which will go down well with any inter faith lovers. interestingly l had been reading on the concept of De too, in relation to the http://www.interfaith.org/forum/pantheism-and-panentheism-12047.html thread, as a possible interface [l was comparing this with the concepts of grace, conatus, metta and chesed!] for authentic living.

have a great day, and life, too:)

Well, Baba & Nick, while I feel for any job struggles, guess a bright side to your experiences is the wonderful opportunity to live in China for a spell. I'd think that was interesting.:) earl

Thanks for all the love, I'm in Jiujiang, Jiangxi province. Teaching English. Diggin' the life here although I do miss youtube and facebook.

For those who do not know, the Chinese government has blocked a large number of websites, including Youtube and Facebook. Baba, I find that your book is also blocked!

For those of you who are interested, here are maps to both my city (Yiwu) and Baba's city (Jiujiang).

yiwu zhejiang china - Google Maps

Jiujiang Jiangxi china - Google Maps

Hey, Baba, we're not too far away from each other. Just head for Jinhua and take a left.

Hmmm google sites being blocked is a new development, it worked fine a couple of weeks ago. Damn Splitists and Capitalist Roaders ruining everything for the rest of us.

Baba Yaga

From Wikipedia,the free encyclopedia

Baba Yaga (also:Baba Jaga) is a witch-like character in Slavic folklore. She flies around on a giant mortar or broomstick, kidnaps (and presumably eats) small children, and lives in a house which stands on chicken legs. In most Slavic folktales she is portrayed as an antagonist; however, some characters in other mythological folk stories have been known to seek her out for her wisdom, and she has been known on occasion to offer guidance to lost souls, although this is seen as rare.

China has been blocking sites online for years. You might not have read about that in China. :)
