Stress and Rejection

Thank you for bringing those up. Good information to have, too. In my experience a vote of encouragement from a special someone makes every task easier. Confidence makes the room brighter. Its really amazing how just a smile can be enough to make one a winner for a day.

There has been a lot of science published recently on intelligence, how to define it and just how it can or cannot be measured. It is a part of an ongoing debate of course and it is worth applying an older study to the above two articles.
IQ and the Wealth of Nations - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It is kind of obvious that IQ is a rather fluid measure of actual ability. The table in the above link of course deals with nationally rounded and adjusted figures.... yet there is even greater variance within the strata of a given society than nationally. A social network of physicists might score 135 where the members of the Simon Cowel Official Fan Club may score as low as 55.
Undoubtedly intelligence is a utility that expands with need. It is also an evolutionary driven tool. Which I would love to expand on but will suffice with a link that describes what I'm getting at better than me;

You know... In the 19th century, if you were stressed/depressed... And so on. They had quite a simple solution for this, a doctor would take an ice pick... Place it into your right eye socket... Then whack it with a mallet.... While moving the pick in an up and down motion... It helped to remove teh stress... And... a little bit of your brain... But hey "trust him, he's a doctor." Maybe this is worth a go? I guess this medical practices doesn't happen anymore... And? We can clearly see stress levels and depression taking a rise.... Perhaps it did it work?

vipassana meditation is a great stress remover. And it's free. And no ice picks in the eye.

Yes, I agree with Dream. Makes such a big difference. Walking around in a dollar store too. Dreaming too helps enormously - take that dream last night where I was suddenly riding a bear. Some invisible mentality told me that I had to hang onto his fur and not allow him to turn his head or he'd bite me and game over. I thought for a minute my wrist was going to be too weak but it held. Suddenly he became a man lol and I apologized and lead him over for a raw potato snack. Now look how many laughs I get out of that.. ..

And don't forget to smile at yourself every time you use a mirror.
No kidding, don't ever let your reflection look sad and you'll feel much more cheerful, try it..:)

lol, Everone else would be stressed if I'm urged to reject my coffee! :D

Rejection does hurt. But a closed door may lead to an open window.

My problem is that the open window is on the 9th floor (and I'm not a :kitty:, in spite of evidence to the contrary.)

For stress, meditation and gardening work for me the best.
For rejection, I don't worry about it so much because the only rejection that matters to me is of God. And I know He does not reject me as long as I'm honest with Him.

Yoga and meditation are the best techniques to deal with the stress.
Your routine workout must contain both of these exercises if you want to get rid of the stress, depression, and all other mental illnesses.

Any comment?

The main way I deal with my stress is by singing this song called the Hu. I'm a member of Eckankar and the Hu is a song we always sing. Hu is an ancient name for God and any body from any faith can sing the song. You just take a deep breath, then sing Huuuuuuuu in a long drawn out breath. Sing it like 3 to 5 times and you'll relieve so much anxiety and it will ground you.
