Hey CZ, on another, unrelated topic, with Tao's banning, are you prepared to pick up the slack on the atheist side ? One of the problems with banning one of only two or three atheists on the board is that it leaves a little shortage of those to challenge the theists !!

I had no idea Tao was banned. I'm really sorry to hear that.

I am prepared to hold the torch for rationality.

I just left another forum yesterday (scam.com) so now I'll have spare time.

If you think this forum is rough, you have nooo idea. This place is a genteel cocktail party compared to some places out there.

I'm not familiar with scam.com, but I know what you mean about "some places" on the Internet! As much as I hate having notes pulled or censored, I think I'd rather put up with that than be subjected to the kind of hatred and abuse some of the more unbalanced posters on unmoderated or badly moderated interfaith forums can dish out. Same thing with political forums. BB and Tao are a couple of pussycats compared with some of the creeps and cretins I've encountered!

I still don't know what Tao did that was bad enough to get him banned, though. I hope it had nothing to do with me. I was annoyed and a little hurt by his attitude awhile back, but I never complained to the mods or asked to have any of his notes pulled.

Thanks...I just read the Admin. topic you linked to. I always thought you could say anything in a PM, but I guess that doesn't apply if the recipient takes offense and complains. Not that I blame C0de for taking offense. Tao really should know better than that, and the fact that he called it "an old racist joke" shows that he did know better.

That shows very poor judgment on his part, but I hope it's only a suspension and Tao hasn't been banned permanently. On the other board where I post regularly, posters don't get permanently banned except for repeated and habitual offenses of that kind.
