Vancouver, 2010.. Winter, Olympic Games

Lol, 17th, something I noticed about the usa and the tv ads is that they advertise percription drugs and the actual advert for the drugs might take 12 seconds, but the ad continues for another 3 minutes telling you the possible side affects. LOL> ( I first thought it was a joke. LOL)
 
They passed a law that says if you tell the benefits of a drug you must also tell its side effects.... and we (public in general) listen just like we read the side of the cigarette pack as we light up...we want instant gratification...who cares about side effects.

Some of the companies have gotten around the law by making two commercials...one talking about the drug without stating benefits...and see your doctor and then another commercial same flavor same actors talking about how good they feel without naming the drug...

The problem I have had for years about our Olympic coverage is I have no interest in the stories, I want to watch the events...and I want to watch events that the US didn't win and didn't have a chance to win...just to see the competitors...
 
Sorry, you watch the Olympics for events you haven't got a chance of winning? So.... You're gonna be watching the hockey!?!? *Someone in the crowd: UH UH!! NAH HE DIDN'T!!!* *WOLFWHISTLES*

lol... Anyway. I guess I am also like couldn't care for the stories... And have certain events....... Event. That I want to watch. But ones my nation cannot win... What's with this?

Seriously Wil... You need to write someone a letter... Too many adverts on your TV. I am smoking more than ever now! lol.. End of period... Smoke... Goal.... Smoke... Time out.... Smoke..... I just can't sit there and watch all those dreadfully boring adverts lol... Going to sue them for nicotine addiction.....
 
those adverts pay for all those shows of ours you like to watch....and the salaries of all our movie, tv stars and atheletes...and all those corporate execs...tis what make the dial go around...

sure I catch some hockey... but not all the games...I'll wait till the finals for most events...
 
Back to hockey...been some good games...but hardly matters what team you watch you are seeing NHL on the team...

Best game I've seen so far was Russia Czech...ended 4 2 but that was an empty net goal and could have gone either way. US just made the finals...

there have been some great events so far...

NHL is talking about backing out of Olympics next year as they feel it hurts their season... I say once every four years...it probably helps the league... but it would also be nice to see the college kids back in it...
