I found this poem online, and wanted to share:

9-11 by Lois

My whole world is falling down
Nine one one, nine one one.
In smoke and debris our loved ones drown
Nine one one, we say.

Husbands, brothers, sons, and dads
Nine one one, nine one one,
Wives and sisters, daughters, moms,
All come to help that day.

Senseless deaths from hate and war,
Nine one one, nine one one,
In our homeland or yonder shore,
When will it go away?

Our children need us to be there,
Nine one, one, nine one, one,
To give them tender love and care
that drives their fears away.

May all the victims of 9/11 rest in peace.

How much wallowing in "Pearl Harbor" was there in 1950? Why all the wallowing this time around?

Maybe because Pearl Harbor could be considered a military target?
I don't know..

I wonder if people in Kobe Japan still wallow in the firebombings we did because our leadership at the time thought it would be advantageous to kill civilians untill the Japanese came to their senses and surrendered.

Everything is a military target these days.

Here is an interesting video in the spirit of remembrance:

No, they don't. They aren't whiny like Americans.

I wasn't born until later in the 50's, but Pearl Harbor Day was still a big deal when I was growing up. It takes time-- but I've managed to forget the Alamo and the Maine :D
