Pay it forward. (I think that is the name).

I dont know if I watch many movies that inspire me................

But I do love the "foundation for a better life" commercials........ they inspire me.

Super, thanks for the input. We shoud never be satisfied with what we know, we should alwasy question, and keep the mind moving, otherwise we will fall into stagnation.

oh I do, but I do not have a very good memory. lol.It has its "up side" tho, I can watch a movie for the tenth time, and even though I remember that I have seen it, I cant always remember what happens next. LOL.

i remember 2 that inspired me......... Field of Dreams
and Ned Kelly.

Baraka - movie/doc
The Shawshank Redemption - movie
America: Freedom to Fascism - movie/doc
Pink Floyd: The Wall - movie
Kundun - movie/doc
Independence Day - movie
Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope - movie

i don't suppose that they are in any particular order as they each address some different aspect to inspire :)

metta.

Baraka?, I gotta check it out. Thaks for the input.

here's a trailer on youtube for it:
YouTube - Baraka (Trailer)

Baraka (1992) - IMDb

largest screen and bluest of rays to watch this with as high fidelity sound as you can manage.

it's a documentary, mostly, looking at a single day in the world and what is happening in various places and cultures at the same time... or it's a message concerning advanced capitalism and it's enslaving effects on people... or it's an awesome music video for there are no words in it...or it's a really cool background to have on during the party...or...etc.

Like Pay it Forward, these are all movies of instances of how one person can create something larger than themselves, benefit more than than themselves, one person who cares...can make a difference.... but they are all true...

I am (tom shaddiaks documentary) Iamthedoc.com

Something the lord had made

Remember the Titans

Coach Carter

Radio

Freedom writers

The last lecture

The Ron Clark Story

My wife and I have watched this about ten times. :)

hope you are well :)

metta,

The movie. I bought this DVD several years ago and we almost wore it out.
I'm doing very well, so kind of you to inquire. I hope all is going well with you too! Keep me posted on PM :)

and Godfrey Reggio's films?

I saw the Qatsi trilogy, very powerful stuff. Have you seen any others?

No, I meant them. In fact, I've not got the third - it gets mixed reviews. How do you rate it compared with the first two?

Overuse of visual effects and it didn't engage me emotionally or intellectually like the first two did. But you might have a peek anyway, you might find it amusing.
Somehow I think it failed to make the point the title suggests, the militaristic and financial imagery was pretty pedestrian in light of the human cost of a technological and consumer society. I think quite honestly if we took a 16mm camera and did a road trip we could come up with something a bit more biting.

Thanks. That's what the other reviews seem to say. Checked the trailer - constant FX. Limited myself to the first two, which are incredible.
