I do not believe in the bible predicting bad events in history. I believe the true bible code is a blueprint for paradise made up of mathmatical equations involving elements.

Mathematically speaking... "Moby Dick" and "Finnegan's Wake", when treated with similar algorthms provide much the same kind of data as what others call "The Bible Code". Confidentially, I tend to agree with you.

Does anybody know Information Theory? How does one apply Information Theory to predict the potential amount of information that could be stored in a piece of text?

When I think about Bible codes I think of the language as the code book. When you find a string of characters in a Bible code, you use the language to make sense of it. Therefore you are thinking of the Bible code as compressed and/or encrypted information. Its manipulated using two methods: 1st is using the literal text (whose letters you are stripping away) and the 2nd is the assumed 'Supertext' that is impressed into the literal text (which you are extrapolating using language as your codebook).

Assuming that the 'Supertext' contained an infinite amount of information, how can we apply Information Theory to the subject of Bible codes to determine the maximum information obtainable from an extracted piece? So we're assuming the Supertext has infinite information and we have perfectly selected a Bible code and wondering how much of that infinite information could be extracted from it.

I would not recommend using the english version to try to figure out any code because in hebrew letters each letter has a numerical value and translating the text from hebrew to english will give you the wrong letters. My theory is that since each hebrew letter has a numerical value and combination of letters make mathmatical equations and mathmatical equations are used to make things that you can use this code as a blueprint for correcting elements. Basically the blueprint for paradise. I believe you start with the name of GOD in hebrew YHVH which forms picture. Even though vowels are not used in the hebrew they are implied and the vowels are also needed in these equations. If you write YHVH with the (hint) three vowels they show on pictures of christs cross and write it vertically you have a mathmatical equation based on the fact that each consonant represents an element and each vowel represents an element spread out between them you get an equation. Then you take the same picture and mirror it as an opposite energy. Texts talk about being originally joined at the navel which would be the center vowel. The link between these two vowels makes an equation and forms the complete picture. I believe this picture has a pattern of equations and this pattern if used is the blueprint for paradise. I do not believe you can take the text and decode some knowledge of future events. I believe the Bible Code doesnt have anything to do with that but is simply a blueprint to correct things in this world.

Suppose you are wrong but people take you seriously and start reading these blueprints, but the blueprints say terrible things. It is dangerous to make up stuff about what 'God' says. That is where this blueprint assertion can lead. People could take you seriously, and then you could cause a lot of grief. If the Bible has blue prints, then its simple. We start decoding them immediately and follow the instructions like good little ants; because we musn't question a divine blue print. So if the blue print says to wear kilts and kill whales then that's what we could wind up doing. Eventually it will be the norm and everyone will think that wearing kilts and killing whales is great, because after all we'd say we're following God's blue prints when actually it is just a theory.

By the way its fine if some people want to wear kilts, but they aren't the way to paradise. Unless of course its in the divine blue prints.

None of the blueprints are discovered until after the fact.

They are reversed engineered and sought out to find something thru conjecture and a large stretch of the imagination will yield some fruit of proof of the vine existing.

Yes there is some prophecy, but as it occurs we need to stretch it as well, in order to make the event fit the prophecy.

Amazing the credit we try to apply to these things...

mph. translating "bible codes" from hebrew to english is going to give you fairly major problems in transliteration as well, because english has letter-vowels and hebrew only has consonants. similarly, "t", "k/c/q", "sh" , "tz" or an "a" in english may all come out differently in hebrew depending on what hebrew letter you have chosen to represent a non-hebrew name. in the stuff i've seen, the most convincing bits are the maths (dr rips' work, which has at least the benefit of having been properly peer-reviewed) but i certainly don't recommend taking much notice of michael drosnin's "predictions" - it's very easy to predict things if they've already happened; the really difficult thing would be to have predicted rabin's assassination (a famous example) *before* it happened. as far as i am aware, none of drosnin's so-called predictions have yet actually come true.

the interesting "coded" stuff in the bible is not to be found this way.

mathmatical equations are used to make things that you can use this code as a blueprint for correcting elements.
that's a theory i've never come across... i think you'll end up going down the golem-making route though.

er....eh?

Texts talk about being originally joined at the navel which would be the center vowel.
hmmm. which texts are these? are you sure it's "navel"? and there are other vowels apart from the "holem" (e.g. the "hirik") which might serve equally well as the navel - in fact, i'd say that the "shuruq" would work just as well and the "dagesh", symbolically, best of all!

I believe the Bible Code doesnt have anything to do with that but is simply a blueprint to correct things in this world.
judaism is the process of working out precisely how to implement this blueprint, but it is inextricably part of the halakhic and aggadic processes!

Information Theory exactly, Dream. Touretsky has a good intro on cmu's sight. Ingermanson has done the best real scientific analysis (I believe) on the subject. The information content depends on (1) the length of the text, (2) the number of letters in the text, and (3) the ways on can connect them. Perhaps the best pro-Code work (as bananabrin point our is Rip, especially Witztum, Rips and Rosenberg (8 papers or so available on the web, especially their "Equidistant letter sequences in the Book of Genesis" from Statistical Science from 1994). On the other side (the "Hard Informational Science" side) is "solving the Bible Code Puzzle" by McKay, Bar-Natan, Bar-Hillel, and Kalai from Statistical Science from 1999 (again, lots of papers on Google Scholar by this crew).

Bottom line, using Rip's method, Moby Dick and Finnegan's Wake work because they are approximately the same size (Finnegan's more interesting because of Joyce's protoi-language). This is not part of the research refernced above.

I am not making stuff up about GOD. YHVH is the name of GOD literally in hebrew, Do you really think anything bad comes from him? The bible code isnt some made up thing to predict bad events its a BLUEPrint OF THE KINGDOM of heaven to correct things in this world scientifically. I hope someone does take me seriously and actually decodes it. the blueprint would never say to kill whales, it may show you how to save species but not make them extinct including the human species. Lol about the kilt comment, blueprints are maps to saving life GOD doesnt care what you prefer to wear.

The answer has been in the hebrew texts all along :)

hey say hello when you see "him" next :)

do we need blueprints to "save" a species, or enable paradise here on earth, surely intelligence will suffice no? it seems that this whole code to paradise thing is an attempt to save the world away from oneself or outside of ones problems, like an easy way out without having to work on or see ones contradictions, because the code will sort it out, i'll just sit back. the kingdom of heaven is within etc blah, need we look anywhere else? i'm more interested in decoding my conflict as that to me is the key to paradise.

"In oneself lies the whole world and if you know how to look and learn, the door is there and the key is in your hand. Nobody on earth can give you either the key or the door to open, except yourself..."

i don't really know about the actual code thingy but do we "need" to decypher it, if it exists, to reach paradise? is this the one way?

I believe its there for us to decode it to better things. Human beings will never be GOD but will be like GOD being in the image of him. I believe the blueprint is the tree of life that the texts talk about eating from and the fruit is the manna.

As you know the vowels were not written but are implied and needed. The center vowel between the two vertically mirrored images of YHVH is the navel or center. The link between the oneness of the two to make a whole picture. The clue is the pics they show of jesus on the cross with the three vowels, these are the correct vowels.
Y=Fire H=Air V=Water H=earth The vowels are Ether spread out with the center vowel being half of the upper two elements and half of the lower two elements.

I wish I had a degree in science so I could decode it myself. Unfortunately I dont. I do have the intellect but not the education:mad:

The problem with the english version is they have to have the correct vowels or the vowels have to have the same numerical values as the hebrew. If the vowels are wrong the equations will be wrong as well. Seems strange though that this blueprint which I call religiously the open door sits in the hebrew texts. I have not looked at other religions to see if each one has this same blueprint. To me its also the lost arc of the covenant.

I have watched some documentaries on tv about how they are trying to decifer the code claiming there are indications of future events such as wwii ect. This is NOT the bible code but linked to the misinterpretation of scripture. They definately are way off track because the code is the blueprint for paradise not future predictions somehow weaved within the text

If you take the hebrew letters and form pictures from the letters kinda like binary codes and computers the pictures contain mathmatical equations consisting of elements. If you have ever seen the movie contact with jodi foster its simular to that but not sent from aliens. This literally is the blueprint for paradise on earth.

One more point: I also believe that if you used computers to form these pictures not only are you going to get these equations but you will literally see the face of GOD and his counterpart.

Forgot to mention the images cannot be flat images very simular to the blueprint in that movie contact within the video images.
