I need suggestions please asap

Any suggestions besides the ones listed below on how not to go to those stores and what do you think of my little trick

When I go to certain stores I get too competitive with other customers. I feel I have to buy it before someone else does. How do I NOT feel competitive? How do I not feel the need to go into these stores and how do I not feel competitive? However, this is a trick I am trying: I learned a little trick . I got it from a show on the Disney channel. A character wanted to stop thinking about his girlfriend so he put a rubber band on his wrist and every time he said her name he zapped himself with the rubber band to stop thinking about her. So I decided to try that so I put a rubber band on my left wrist and every time I feel like going into those stores I zap myself to stop the feeling and it is really working. I have no desire to go.

I also dont go out of the house with money or charge cards. The money I would have in my wallet I have hidden in my apartment in places I cannot get to easily such as in the back of my closet in the shoe boxes I have. If I want to get to the shoe boxes I have to take everything out of the closet to get to the shoe boxes.
 
try being brutally honest with yourself, about why you are competitive and what you think you will gain, try to experience this fully, if you can do this it can dissolve things.

Hiding money wont work not for me anyway, i used to hide my weed so i would smoke less, it never worked.
 
If you want to change anything in your self you are the only one can help you. Beside no one know you much better than yourself. Its a good sign that you do something that you think is effective for you. With that I can say that it is a good step you done. Just try to exert an effort to motivate you. Have you try to consult to psychiatrist for you to discuss your problem. I know it helps. Try it.

Sounds like OCD. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

The wrist rubber band trick is affective for a lot of things one wants to stop doing. Over eating, excusing why they can't exercise today, stopping smoking, etc...

Going out of the house without charge cards is a good thing. Without money, not so much. What if you have an emergency and need ready cash?
Your issue is putting you at risk monetarily and with regard to personal safety.
Seek professional help. Even an OCD Discussion forum, which can have psychotherapists on staff as Admin. or Mod's, is a great sounding board because you're engaging in a dialog with people who know how you feel.
