But then, ecumenicalism does not mean throwing away what one believes to shake hands with another.

True ecumenicalism thrives, it just bever gets reported in the press ... within Catholic circles, for example, there is a conservative resistance to the ecumenism of Pope Benedict, which actually surpasses that of his predecessor, Pope John-Paul II.

Oh, we know. By ecumenicalism I mean just that, and the reaching out to "older" Christian groups (Eastern and African) has certainly been one of the hallmarks of this Pope. I think he has establish (or nearly etablished) communion with many.

Isn't ecumenical meaning the accepting of various Christian denominations?

Talk about 'Royalties'. Oooh! And then there is the post-video sales.

I think it's a great idea to see the Pope or Cardinals or Bishops wrestling.

Excuse me. This is a free forum, and the twenty-first not the twelvth century. If you disagree, please do so in a civil manner. We were discussing the Current Pope's attempt at ecumincalism, which is something all modern Christians should believe in.
