Ladies and Gentlemen Together

If Jesus met Mohammed
would there be a fight?
If Buddha came and joined them
would everything be all right?
Who has the monopoly here on
what is true and kind?
If you asked, “Who’s the foremost?”
wouldn’t they say, “Never mind”?
If a hippy had Tofu Danish,
a full pan baked to share,
Would you ask her if you could try it,
or would you ever dare?
If Bal Shem Tov bought bagels,
could he pass them all around?
When Mother Earth has a baby,
doesn’t it usually make a sound?
Well?

O you, the wisest and fairest of the Angels,
God betrayed by destiny and deprived of praise,
O Prince of Exile, you who have been wronged
And who vanquished always rise up again more strong,
You who know all, great king of hidden things,
The familiar healer of human sufferings,
You who teach through love the taste for Heaven
To the cursed pariah, even to the leper.

O Satan, take pity on my long misery!

from "Flowers of Evil" Charles Baudelaire

LOL, this calls for a big batch of green chile brownies topped with chocolate dipped pretzels! :p

very poetic, thanks for sharing it!
I kinda dig occam's razor and the teaching:
It only takes one fence post to fence
the world. Thank you for posting!

Wow, how did I miss this thread? Thank you so very much for sharing this. I am really more of a classic Rabi'a kind of reader, but this poem speaketh to me.
