Daniel 12

I don't believe there is any study showing it makes a dent...

Unless you are speaking of genocide....
I can look at the incline of homicide rates when death penalty is no longer applicable... All studies are biased. in general most people doing research on the topic are anti-death penalty. As stated before, If you google something long enough looking for an answer Deterrence (In Support of the Death Penalty) ...

beyond that, how do you get conclusive evidence of whether an idea stopped a crime from happening? I do believe the thrill of the court case and trying to make people doubt the guilt, makes current Death penalty more of a challenge than a deterrent, Which is why I am not in support of media coverage of court cases...

Not many, if any, Muslims would make that mistake. Shaytan (satan, devil, etc.) is very well emphasized as evil and wrong.

Although I have to dissagree that Revenge is completely wrong all the time. There are better options usually, but there are righteous revenges. Such as justice for murdering someone. It is clearly revenge, but allowed. It can be forgiven or its sentence can be alleviated to jail/ lashes/ or a combination of other punishments. But death penalty for murder is a form of revenge, considered righteous, but not the most righteous.
the only thing that is right about murder is self defense.

"it"

Are Christians remaining true to Israel? Shame or Glory? (or new rules?)

They can't. They must remain true to the NT. Since the essence of the NT is based on the Pauline policy of Replacement Theology, Christians would have to discard the NT to remain true to Israel.

I figured our politicians are trying to buy their way in...

My basic question is... you don't feel it applies to Christians, you know, the ones that follow that Jew. Does believing in the Jew Jesus as Son of G!d fit the bill for this scripture's requirement?

(while I realize you'll give a response as a Catholic Christian, it would be interesting to see a response from a Judaism perspective as well. (of course we know what Shib would say))

Well, will, I would like to know what Scripture requirement would allow the belief that Jesus was son of God to fit in? According to the Tanach aka the Jewish Scriptures, Jesus could fit into the classification of son of God only as part of the People of Israel if you read Exodus 4:22,23. "Israel is My son."
But, son of God without a biological human father could never fit within Judaism. I'll tell you where it can fit in: The Greek concept of the demigod which is the son of a god with an earthly woman. That's why the idea was fabricated by a Hellenistic Jew called Saul of Tarsus. (Acts 9:20)
