In this so called Reality. Well, most of the time.
This is one of those questions that baffle me about Gods. I'm not sure there is any actual answer; far as I know it has never been mentioned in any religious text.

With that out of the way I have a question. Why did it take God(s) 4 ½ billion years to get around to making man? Current theory indicates that within roughly 1 billion years after the Earth formed, there was already the most rudimentary of forms of life present.

And for most of the very long time span after that it remained the most basic life forms. It was only in the last half billion years that more complex life forms evolved. 300 million years ago, or so, brought the more complicated life forms, reptiles, fish, dinosaurs, mammals, etc.

And only in the last 200 thousand years has there been what we would consider the creature we call modern man has existed.

The Earth is 4 ½ billion years old. There has been complicated life for only the last half billion years. And man for the merest fraction of time that the planet has existed.

What took God(s) almost 4 ½ billion years to bring man to the planet????? I mean we are the apex of creation, right? Yet we seem to have been an afterthought.

or it took that long (in our perception) to make the world in the right way to sustain Human life. You have to remember in that 4.5 billion years is a long time for you and I, but for Allah, it is just a blink, or 5 days if you will. The Quran talks of Beasts that roamed the earth that Allah had to destroy so that we could be formed (killing of the dinosaurs). But ask any Paleantologist about how and why Dinosaurs were so big compared to present animals. Gravity, Atmosphere, and weather allowed life to grow that big, now it cannot. Everything had to be just right. Allah says all life came from the water. Which is where the mud came from that he began to mold lifeforms. To get it perfect, at the Perfect time with the perfect conditions, It had to have been either the luckiest of odds, or a deity's work.

The world could have been created in two ways: by setting up a complete, working system, or by launching an evolutionary process. The Creator choses the latter: if you want to know why, one day you may get the chance to ask!
