Please watch this video at the link below. Your thoughts? I was unable to embed it in the post. I find it interesting that Imran Hossein, one of the Muslim eschatology teachers, has similar views. Except, of course, Hossein is not talking about Babylon. More about him later. Wanted to get your thoughts about this biblical prophecy.

I think the king of the north could be the North Korean king, not as noted in the video. I may be wrong, though. And what about the Babylon? Perhaps it is a global government, not a specific state? :) Just thoughts.
 
I apologize.... I have simply seen so much of this and couldn't get past the first few minutes.... it all falls under (for me) the 'keep the fear alive' notions of prophecy.... I personally love how biblical predictions change over time....no it wasn't that, it was this...and how the end of times "because of the signs"...the signs...have been predicted thousands of times in the past 2,000 years...and not one of them is right...
 
there are some 800 years old prophecies by Naimatullah shah wali. I dont remember exactly, but russia will attack america and destroy them, supported by china. India will attack pakistan and tibet, and then pakistan, afghanistan, turkey, china etc will conquer india. huge death creating weapons (between russia and US), communication through skies etc. And finally antichrist.....A lot of it is in the making.
 
IMHO all the speculation is useless. It is not a revealed Date, and I believe it to be one of the facts Allah has purposefully left out of our understanding due to the test being inadequate if a date was given. Why worry about your soul day to day if you know you have time. Same with each of us not knowing our death date. If one knew his day, he would probably not start practicing correctly until shortly before.
 
Prophecies are always like that, dont know why. You wont find any "humans will live happily ever after" kind of prophecy. Most probably because humans are like that. Cant live in peace, cant live without it.
 
I am definitely cautious of "dates" and any info predicting dates I dismiss because if Allah (God) SWT would to reveal dates to anyone, it would have been the Messengers and His Messiah. So… dates I do not believe :) However, I do find it interesting that concept of the whore of Babylon, etc. A lot of the prophetic characteristics could be ascribed to either nations or cities. I read somewhere that both Rome and Jerusalem were once cities on "seven hills." And they said the whore will ride a 7-headed beast. Of course, the ancient idol Ishtar (the idol of temple prostitution, individual freedom, war and love/sex), when in the command of war, would have a chariot of 7 lions. Ancient Christians referred to the Ishtar/Isis idol as the whore of Babylon because in her cult it was believed that one gets cleansed of sin by engaging in sexual rite with a temple priest or priestess. Ishtar temples earned money on the ritual prostitution. Is today's materialism similar to the cult of Ishtar? Can a nation or a continent be called the whore of Babylon? Some liken the statue of liberty or Columbia (the personification of America) to Ishtar statues. Your thoughts?

That is an interesting approach. People in USA have tended to look for ourselves in these prophecies. Some of the more common interpretations see USA and Britain symbolically represented by prophecies about the ancient country called 'Tyre'. Tyre was a country that produced the metal Tin, so it is thought that Britain is related to Tyre through its Tin; so Britain and all of its colonies get associated with Tyre.

Another major source of Britain-centric interpretation is the 'British Israel Movement', which really became a fairly large cult last century. It proposed that Britain was actually the true heir of King David's throne (and that English people were Jews), and so rather than Tyre it associated Britain and its colonies with Judaism. It really, really weird stuff; and you may find it interesting. You can get original books about it online for free, but keep in mind it is very tedious.

Actually I have seen several very different Bible interpretations, all taken very seriously. I visited a church that believe that the gospel was lost until about 50 years ago when it was rediscovered in the Philippine islands. Yes, that's really what they believed, and they had Biblical expositions involving Bible prophecies to prove all of it. As you may have guess these people were all originally from...the Philippine Islands.
 
Hmm. After watching the video and being familiar with US culture, I am pretty convinced that this video is a prank. Its mocking the modern conspiracy theories that circulate, and there are a lot of them. Religious groups repeatedly have publicly declared end of world scenarios and been embarrassed. I think its a prank, because he has begun talking about the Amish, EMP bombs and Faraday cages. Lots of people know about Faraday cages, how to can foods in Mason jars etc.

Now, as for EMP bombs they are very impractical. Its possible to produce an EMP bomb that damages perhaps a 1/10 of a mile area, but anything larger than that requires a nuke. Its simply too hard to make a pure EMP bomb, and the primary danger of nukes is radiation, not EMP. Its true EMP is a magnetic surge that creates voltage in wires and metal objects and that EMP might burn out a lot of electronics. Its also true that living inside of a Faraday Cage can cause EMP to flow around electronics; however consider that world militaries already seal their equipment from EMP attacks. They do already. They already know about EMP threats. In addition electronics can be repaired. Generators can be re-wired. Copper can be melted down and reformed.
 
Statue of Liberty as an Ishtar statue? Methinks that is a real stretch. Do you know of any significant information that could justify that claim? According to the creator and builder of the statue, it represented a Roman Goddess, Libertas.

Interestingly enough the American statue was suggested only after Bartholdi offered a similar statue to Egypt, which was discussed but in the end Egypt declined. He designed a colossal woman holding up a lamp and wearing the loose fitting dress of a fellah, a slave, to stand as a lighthouse at the entrance of the Suez Canal.

Also ancient Christians may have only associated her with prostitution, but the Goddess was a far more complex figure who resided over many areas of life, including war, of healing and of thunderstorms amongst others.
