There were a couple of members who met online... here at interfaith... and then hit it off online outside the forum...visited each other and eventually got married.

At the wedding three other members showed up... I believe this may be a record... five folks who met on IO in one place at one time.

The bride came from Australia... The wedding was outside of Washington DC... One came up from North Carolina, another with his mate from Florida, me and my kids attended. They thought I was nutz..."What? we are going to a wedding of people you never met?" They had a great time...the bride and groom were thoroughly surprised.

My gift to the couple was a painting made by yet another member of IO...a painting designed and painted in memory of another member who passed... it was quite a day. 7 members represented in art and in person.

I've met two others in my travels, hiked, broke bread, had great conversations...

Hopefully this thread will inspire others who met here...to say hi in person...

I've left names out...not for any secrecy on my part...but I've not consulted those on the other end...should they wish to pipe up...the thread is open... (there are only three who are currently semi active posters)

Wow. I had no idea. How long ago did the wedding occur?

I love the communal identity that can develop online and continue to flourish away from a keyboard.

It seems that IO has a trend of a wedding every five years and we are in 2015 now....

waggindraggin = dream...OK, I understand now.

I remember it too, very nice time. If you remember my dog, she passed away a couple months ago. I miss her.

Didn't know about FS and Dor, so I learned something.

So sorry to hear that, Juantoo3!
