Ok, forget any preconceived notions about the universe, scientific or otherwise and whatever your particular religious doctrine teaches you about heaven and or the hereafter. This question is for you personally. What is your idea of the perfect heaven? Again, never mind your beliefs, religious or otherwise, if it were up to you, what would be the perfect outcome once your current life ends?

That's an easy one for me. When I lived in the states I watched a lot of re-runs of the old Andy Griffith TV show. So, when I pass the Good Lord can just make me about 20 years younger, hang a couple good cameras around my neck, slap a fishing pole in my hand and drop my sorry arse smack dab in the middle of Mayberry for all eternity.

I don't know if I can reject the Idea that Allah has a better heaven awaiting than anything we can imagine.

Eternal sleep... Never really thought about this... In this way...

But when I sleep...there is no time...there is no hunger...there is no pain...there are no problems...there is now worry, no deadlines, no concerns, no bills...and on and on and on...only when I awake do these things return...

There are, however, sometimes, nightmares! And I don't know about you, but mine can be very vivid.
Maybe God trying to tell you something? Just saying....:D

Not asking anyone to reject their religious beliefs, just put them aside and give a personal opinion in human terms and thinking.

I like that. I like that a lot. Reminds me of a 60's Twilight Zone episode. In it several people were in a room watching old b&w home movies with no sound. For some people in the room it was the hight of enjoyment while for others it was complete misery. The premise being, some of the people in the room were in heaven while others were in hell.

There was another one where a gangster bought the big one and ended up in a place full of wine, woman and song. Every gal was his for the asking, as was anything else he wanted. He always had the winning hand and everything always went his way. He was happy at 1st, but then he started reflecting on his past wrongs and decided he didn't deserve to be in heaven and asked to be sent to hell instead. That's when he was informed that he hadn't been sent to heaven and this was in fact hell!

Meh... Andy Griffith... A small town in the south with no blacks, catering to the town drunk and asbergers deputy... Glorified reality...nostalgic mythology...I can see it's appeal.

Look at most any crowd scene and you'll see there were black citizens in Mayberry. Foreign folks too. Otis, the town drunk, was treated with the same compassion as any other citizen as was Barney, the somewhat inept deputy. Therein lies the lesson and the appeal of The Andy Griffith show for me. Nothing wrong with poking fun at your fellow man, but when all is said and done, be there for one another, especially those less fortunate. Andy, the sheriff, set folks straight on that in a number of episodes, all the while maintaining justice without a gun. Glorified reality? You bet. Pure Heaven!

Sorry maybe I wasn't clear, I was simply saying I cannot fathom I could come up with a "perfect" existence better than that promised. Change it up and maybe say what's the best life idea I can think of in this world, IDK, a private island, with me and my "perfect" wives, with plenty of meat to eat and a personal chef and maid. Friends stopping by to visit from time to time, but with plenty of unlimited Data on a perfect network signal for keeping up to date. If Allah would forgive me a bit of Good Pale Ale and Bocks wouldn't be a bad addition.

Ok, let me give my idea of heaven. Might seem strange to some, but [if] war, violence and crime were no longer a concern, and if my wife and I could live debt free without having to go to work everyday and we could remain healthy and young for all eternity, than the life I have right now would fit my idea of heaven. Not that we live all that grand or anything. Far from it, but it's more than I ever wanted and much more than I deserve. So speaking strictly with human incite and knowledge, this is it for me and I'd be quite content forevermore.

Now that you mention it, with those conditions thrown in, I'd be content with my current situation as well.

Do you really want that, Wil? To me, that would be total annihilation. You would not exist and would not know you didn't exist, just like that unconscious, dreamless state of sleep we all fall into. I find that very threatening.

I have the privilege of visiting a family member who lives in small town. Nobody locks the door to their homes and in winter a sleeping infant would be left in the car seat with the car running to keep the heat going while you dashed in the post office to get your mail. Members of the town cut and stack firewood for the old. Heaven for me would see this small town charm on a global scale. Trust, assistance, sharing. Respect towards one one other in all walks of life. Everyone has an open mind to accept the diversity each offers and learn through that diversity. Humanity. Integrity. Self discipline.

I can struggle at times in asking why others cannot see how beautiful the world would be if we all focus on the humanity of each other. Learning together the wonders of the world. I believe His Holiness the Dalai Lama (forgive my religious reference) has it right for the promotion of peace and non-violence.

In my perfect heaven - I will see all humanity evolve to promote a peaceful, non-violent life. Respect for each other. Self discipline for ourselves. Gratitude for the earth we live upon. And may I be granted my wings to be a part of it.

karaoke, 24/7, with no waiting. unlimited Guinness you can drink all day without feeling bilious, and... all men would wear sequin mini dresses and stockings. even jesus. no exceptions...

I don't know exactly... but seems a great option compared to every single idea I've ever heard... I frankly don't know how to explain or even contemplate the unexplainable... One of my 'dream' scenarios would be that this existence is a training ground...and once we learn to set aside jealousy, envy, hate...and learn to embrace, truly embrace caring compassion, love for all.... that we will be ready to move on to the next existence.
