love your enemy

What if the enemy doesnt love you back?
What if? And so what? I'd rather die trying to create peace than die in another stupid war....amazing howw many lemmings our leaders are willing to send over the cliff for war, vengeance, world domination....tens of thousands at a time....but how many for peace???

Well how about peace and prosperity for all of God's creations. It is difficult for me to accept that if a group is systematically slaughtering your people, the solution is to love the bad guys more.
The concept is what Gandhi worked toward, non violent resistance... Bullies like to take from the weak...folks that run....not many like to slaughter people who continue to stand up and refuse to fight

The concept is what Gandhi worked toward, non violent resistance..

And even Gandhi later remarked that he didn't believe his form of nonviolent resistance would have worked if any other country besides Britain were in charge of India. Nonviolent resistance can only work if the dominant force has some respect for human life. Such a strategy would not have worked in China. Tiananmen Square taught us that.

I believe that image of one man against a row of tamks...changed that country...

Agreed. Social media is making an impact in China on various issues. Tiananmen Square happening again? The Chinese people would shoot back . . . with their cameras.

Oh, we tried it but some just do not respond. Try it on IS.
who did? When? What? Where?

Consider after 911...if Bush said this is a horrible tragedy, a terrorist act, a crime of. The highest order...what we want as a country is healing and justice we offer 1 billion dollars to find the perpetrators, the conspirators and bring them to justice....

There would be no Isis...Iraq would still be Iraq...no war in Afghanistan... Tens of thousands of our young adults would. It be disabled for life or dead .. Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and afghans would be alive...we wouldnt be 4 trillion in debt. And would have taken a leadership role in the world for peace and justice

Instead...we chose war and vengeance.... ...grew alqueda set the ground work for Isis...

Yep. After that a policy was instituted by the ruling party to crack down on any and all progressive democratic movements.

In the aftermath of the crackdown, the government conducted widespread arrests of protesters and their supporters, cracked down on other protests around China, expelled foreign journalists and strictly controlled coverage of the events in the domestic press. The police and internal security forces were strengthened. Officials deemed sympathetic to the protests were demoted or purged.[16]Zhao Ziyang was ousted in a party leadership reshuffle and replaced with Jiang Zemin. Political reforms were largely halted and economic reforms did not resume until Deng Xiaoping's 1992 southern tour.*

To this day the Chinese government has the military occupy the square on the anniversary of the massacre to make sure no further protests happen again.

Is there any higher teaching than the teaching of Jesus to love your enemy?

The teaching was echoed by Abdul-Baha around a hundred years ago:

So intense must be the spirit of love and loving-kindness, that the stranger may find himself a friend, the enemy a true brother, no difference whatsoever existing between them. For universality is of God and all limitations earthly. Thus man must strive that his reality may manifest virtues and perfections, the light whereof may shine upon everyone.
