I'm curious why long-term members on this forum have decided to stay. What brings you back to this forum again and again?

Perhaps it's nastalgia.;) That and periodically get the urge to discuss things spiritual and this is as good of a place as any to do that, though don't have that urge nearly as often these days. I only recently returned after some years of inactivity.

Ask myself that all the time. Wish I had an answer.
Same for me.

Like Earl I get the thirst to discuss things spiritual, but invariably that conversation rarely gets off the ground, and I end up responding to anti-Christian polemics.

Does seem like in the "old" days we had more frequent discussions of spiritual issues.

I've only been around a couple years and not much being posted these days holds any interest for me, but occasionally I do find the fellowship of a kindred spirit and that makes returning worthwhile.

It would be of more interest to me if we discussed more spiritual issues as well. This constant swiping back and forth about whose interpretation is 'right' is really getting old. So I have a radical idea. If at least some of us wish to discuss things spiritual, would someone please put up a spiritual post? I would do it myself, but from my version of reality I'm not exactly sure what would qualify as spiritual.

Discuss things spiritual? What kind of topics do you have in mind when you think of spiritual topics?

I disagree. In the old days - at least around the time I joined the forum - there was some pretty nasty mudslinging going on that I haven't seen in a long time.

Not for me. I find it fascinating. It's a way to learn about the history of interpretation. Every verse of scripture has a history. With the Bible and other ancient scriptures this history is very, very long . . .

No problem!
