How Was Your Week?

Once again, this is not appropriate discussion for the lounge. As is clearly stated in this section:

Lounge
forget your differences and simply relax - no religion or politics here, please!

For those wishing to pursue the topic, please start a new thread in the appropriate section(s).

Oh... Isis... Now we are getting somewhere

So you weren't referring to 2001 where the US encouraged Britain to continue bombing along with us 2001 16 years ago...

And you aren't referring to just any crazed jihadist...

Jihad...the spiritual struggle within oneself against sin.

But ISIS....that us what you were referring ....

Not a billion Muslims when you said (in the lounge) Ramadan was the murder month ....you were only referring to .0001% so glad we are now clear..

I suppose you wouldn't want me to refer to the actions of the KKK and imply it belonged to all Christian groups right?

Actually, you could do that. It would be your right, and i wouldn't care what you said about anybody, i would make my own judgement, and would just pass it off as horse shit, and you as a fool, and not look for energy to respond...

Lol...

I guess that is a difference between you and I... I try to address racist , mysoginist, sexist remarks when they occur around me in public....and anti interfaith ones when they occur...wherever they occur.

Well look, i edited my post. Sorry, you need to watch out for that: I need to get the words right for posterity, lol

Nj... I like the lounge.... And will stand against crap like this anywhere....
I'm glad you like this thread and I appreciate you asking for citations on what was certainly a poorly phrased and offensive statement in an earlier post that has now been elaborated on.

However, wil and RJM, I agree with the others who have said that the lounge isn't the place for this discussion. Take it to Islam or even Politics and Society as a current affair.

Thank you.

Enjoying my week so far. Flipped my truck. That was fun. Actually landed right-side up with the motor still running. Wife and I drove to the chip shop yesterday wearing bike goggles. No windscreen. Should look for it I guess. Tax disc's attached to it.

Been working on fairly high end LED projects, for stage and commercial lobbies/art etc for a bit...trying to find a lucrative project or product.

I always believed (from following trends) that the money makers are some sort of BS thing that nobody needs or thinks they need. And from the past week ...it appears that may be true.

Been working on LED projects for 3 months....ceiling panels for offices that replace their lights and they can look like skylights... Built a 4x6 furry wall playing trippy bids... And what has taken off?? Blinky tails.... Rainbow Unicorn tails...we can't make them fast enough.

LOL, thank God you landed 'right side up' too!

Ya ole hippie! Enjoy all five days...can ya handle all five? :)
I did! seven if we include the drive up (Tuesday) and the drive home (Monday).

We were outside the perimeter, in a family camping field with, among others, my daughter, her husband and their 1 year old son. So lots of time with Nonna and Pops. Foo Fighters was his highlight! :D (Although, to be fair, he did wear ear defenders at every gig, and slept through most of them.)

Taken me the best part of a week to recover though ...

I seldom get to this part of the forum but while I'm here I can tell you about my American visitor the other week. She was my long lost second cousin and her husband. Since we never met before we had a good to go over, but I think I had the most in common with the husband as he was an old climber (a casual interest of mine) and had worked on the financial side of setting up nature reserves (and me being a Environmental Science student). They gave me a book about a group of pioneering climbers in Yosemite Valley which is a few hours from where they live, and where he used to climb. He also game me one of his old wedges he used to climb with which moved me a great deal.

I've had a half-hearted interest in visiting the US at some point, but it got a lot more relevant.
