Just curious, if you left school at 16, how were you able to obtain a theology degree? I was under the impression college was required for that.

Going through the normal school-university process, yes.

I did a distance-learning degree (5 years part-time supposedly) that's open to all applicants.

On the course in my year we had 4 already in orders, one who transferred half way through to a seminary, and various catlicks like myself who wanted to know more. Ages ranged from early twenties to post-retirement.

Oh, I see. Thanks for clearing that up. A good friend of mine has a Ph.D in theology. He's retired now, but use to head up the theology department at a local college here. I just assumed that to be a prerequisite. Nice to know there are options for non-college grads.
