It's a relatively new festival (1988, I think, but don't quote me.) It started in a geometry class, and has caught on in the geek community.

The date is easy to remember since March 14th can be written as 3-14 (3.14) the first three digits for Pi.

Depends on the pie. I tried a vegan pumpkin pie that, after one bite, made me reconsider vegan pumpkin pie (it was horrible!)
