DOES GOD LEARN FROM MEN?

I feel G!d does for you what G!d does thru you...prayer doesn't change the situation, but our perspective..

I think prayer opens a channel between the self and the divine. The Divine may not intervene unless invited by the self.

It is a humble thing. It is surrender on one's knees to the wisdom and holiness of the divine.

I think it's worth mentioning that prayer is first an obligation towards the divine, and many lack the discernment to acknowledge the distinction between the Absolute and the relative.

From thence, it's an invitation to dialogue.

Like everything, it's something that needs to be learned.

Agreed. I think the understanding of prayer lies in the understanding it's not all about me.

The realisation that I'm not the centre of the cosmos.

I think it starts with simple 'wonder'. Or perhaps 'awe' is the better word (and 'fear', in the proper biblical sense) - a sense of the sublime.

Ok. I'm interested to know what you believe the purpose of prayer is?
Prayer itself...in whatever form you deem it.

Going into that closet and shutting the door, kneeling behind the pew or at the alter, communing with nature, losing yourself in thought while washing dishes...

Whatever your 'our father' is be it chant or dance or walking a labarynth, quiet or exuberant...

In my mind the current purpose of prayer is the action/contemplation/thought that works for YOU

Ok. Is there a question/petition to a 'divine power'? Is there a response?

Asked and answered.

Prayer/meditation we all perform it differently. Some to their Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Etc upbringing. And some do what they graduated 2

Of course it is. Can anyone get stronger without exercising your own muscles. Learn without challenging your own braincells? Five without giving from your own time, talent and treasure?

It is always about me. If it is to be it is up to me.

Once a person has surrendered their being to God, then everything they do is prayer?

For me it's not so much surrender as it is acknowledgement and gratitude for how my being came to be and the ability I've had all along to commune with the creator through prayer. In his glory we're never alone....

G!d hears all eh?

Our thoughts are prayers
And we are always praying
Our thoughts are prayers
Take charge of what you're saying
Seek a higher consciousness
A state of peacefulness
As every thought becomes a prayer.
