We have a member on interfaith Forums that is from India who has not posted for some time, being our friend Aupmanyav. Aupmanyav is in New Delhi, which has been greatly impacted by Covid-19, and he is a more elderly person.

Aupmanyav Faith is not inclusive of God, but I will wish for him and all others safety and happiness in this crisis that India and many other countries face.

Let's hope he returns to say he made it through that crisis.

Love to India and all Nations and may it all be well for you one and all.

Regards Tony

Hanging on. precariously, like from a precipice, no cigarettes. Delhi today recorded less than 10,000 cases for the day, but deaths still at 300 a day. Reported death count in India 4,000. Total till now: 266,000.

Great to hear from you, I was getting worried that you may have faced covid-19. Our thoughts are with India and I hope the world also helps a lot more.

Regards Tony

My family did have a brush with Covid. Son, the younger grandson and myself tested +ve, though I do not believe in the correctness of tests in India. Only my wife has lingering breathing problems (and she was -ve).

Stay safe, all the best for you, your wife and family.

Prayer for India, they will survive and look for alternatives. Solution and God will save them .

Thanks, @davidsheep88, I think your prayers have been answered, though it took some time and toll (the second wave was shorter and more devastating than the first). There is a marked improvement in the Coronavirus scene in India with less than a 1000 deaths (738 yesterday), recovery exceeds infections by 13,000. Delhi, specially, has shown marked improvement with just about 1000 active cases remaining and 2 deaths. We keep our fingers crossed. My family will get the jabs (first for some and second for others) next week.

Experiences like this pandemic show us how we are all connected, how interdependent life on earth is... that our problems are human problems and not isolated to a particular group or region.

I wish we as humankind would put our childish differences aside and recognize that we belong to one human family... that we must be united before we can meaningfully overcome some of our most difficult problems.

It was beautiful how the scientific world united to develop the Covid-19 vaccine ten times faster than otherwise.

Delhi has shown wonderful recovery. Just 683 cases and 2 deaths (in a city of 20 million). Mumbai and (God's own country) Kerala are the worry regions (BTW, my grand-daughter, a dentist, is getting engaged to a person from Kerala).

Yes .. civilisation has come along way .. we have developed global libraries etc.
..yet this has its own problems. Greed, climate change and migration is threatening its survival.

World war can destroy everything .. mankind can be very spiteful.

These are human problems, and yes now that there are so many of us doing things on such massive scales... we really need to become united as the one race that we are before any of these problems can truly be tackled... a house divided falls.

It is all God's/Allah's fault. He send messengers and they create different religions who then fight each other.

A poor excuse. Some people want to unite, while others want to divide.
That's not God's fault. That's ours.

When / if God sends Jesus down to Earth again, the situation still remains.
ie. There is good and there is evil. Some people will rejoice, and some will refuse him.

India and many other countries in the third world don't really have the healthcare infrastructure that would allow them to have a vaccination program as effective as in the US and other developed countries.

More developed nations are responsible for helping less developed ones get up to speed. We are seeing millions of vaccine doses donated from the western countries, however there could always be more support not just by giving out doses but also helping with logistics of a vaccination program.

Quite an attitude. India has vaccinated more people than US, 391 million as compared to 336 million in US. India haws a lower count of dead than US (413,000 dead for 31 million infections as compared to US (624,000 dead for 35 million infections).
Our problem is population, 1380 million as compared to 331 million in US, a billion more than US, most living in 500,000 villages. Then Indians are just as careless as people in the US.
Yes, we were not very organized initially about O2 and Vax supplies. But it is much better than what is reported in Western media. Much hue and cry is made by opposition parties.
We had just one death in Delhi yesterday due to Covid, a city with a population of 20 million, and 657 known residual cases. In all, there were 1.4 million infections and 18,000 deaths in Delhi. Problem is Delhi is aggravated by it being the national capital and people from all over India coming here for employment or business.

India has done an incredible job.

Apologies for the attitude. :)
