God created a way to distinguish between those who are His and those who are not, and it is called faith. Quite simply, we need faith to please God. God tells us that He is pleased when we believe in Him even though we cannot see Him. An important part of Hebrews 11:6 tells us that "He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." This is not to say that we have faith in God just to get something from Him. However, God wants to bless those who are obedient and faithful.
We see a perfect example of this in Luke 7:50. When Jesus entered into a dialogue with a sinful woman, He gave us a glimpse of why faith is useful. "Your faith has saved you, go in peace." The woman believed in Jesus by faith and He rewarded her for it. Ultimately, faith is what sustains us to the end, knowing that by faith we will be in heaven with God forever. "He is whom you have not seen, but love; though now you do not see him, you believe in him, and rejoice with unspeakable and glorious joy, having received the reward of your faith, the salvation of his soul" (1 Peter 1:8-9).
If we do not demonstrate faith and trust in God, we have no place with Him. We believe in the existence of God by faith. Most people have a vague, fragmentary notion of who God is, but lack the necessary reverence for His high place in their lives. These people lack the faith necessary to have an eternal relationship with the God who loves them.
Faith may disappoint us, but since it is a gift from God, given to His children, He provides a time of trial and test to prove that our faith is real. , sharpen and strengthen it. This is why James advises us to consider it “a thing of pure joy” because the test of our faith builds endurance and helps us to mature, providing evidence that Our belief is true (James 1:2-4).
God has always placed by our side good friends to support and guide us, to help us courageously live our faith amidst the trials and tribulations of life. We must never give up or despair because the power and love of God are forever present in our lives.
Our lives today also always need the help of others, especially in the life of faith. When we find ourselves weak, discouraged, impatient before the challenges in life. Then we desperately need the support of people of strong faith. It is they who will help us overcome difficulties to believe in God more firmly.
