God created a way to distinguish between those who are His and those who are not, and it is called faith. Quite simply, we need faith to please God. God tells us that He is pleased when we believe in Him even though we cannot see Him. An important part of Hebrews 11:6 tells us that "He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." This is not to say that we have faith in God just to get something from Him. However, God wants to bless those who are obedient and faithful.

We see a perfect example of this in Luke 7:50. When Jesus entered into a dialogue with a sinful woman, He gave us a glimpse of why faith is useful. "Your faith has saved you, go in peace." The woman believed in Jesus by faith and He rewarded her for it. Ultimately, faith is what sustains us to the end, knowing that by faith we will be in heaven with God forever. "He is whom you have not seen, but love; though now you do not see him, you believe in him, and rejoice with unspeakable and glorious joy, having received the reward of your faith, the salvation of his soul" (1 Peter 1:8-9).

If we do not demonstrate faith and trust in God, we have no place with Him. We believe in the existence of God by faith. Most people have a vague, fragmentary notion of who God is, but lack the necessary reverence for His high place in their lives. These people lack the faith necessary to have an eternal relationship with the God who loves them.

Faith may disappoint us, but since it is a gift from God, given to His children, He provides a time of trial and test to prove that our faith is real. , sharpen and strengthen it. This is why James advises us to consider it “a thing of pure joy” because the test of our faith builds endurance and helps us to mature, providing evidence that Our belief is true (James 1:2-4).

God has always placed by our side good friends to support and guide us, to help us courageously live our faith amidst the trials and tribulations of life. We must never give up or despair because the power and love of God are forever present in our lives.

Our lives today also always need the help of others, especially in the life of faith. When we find ourselves weak, discouraged, impatient before the challenges in life. Then we desperately need the support of people of strong faith. It is they who will help us overcome difficulties to believe in God more firmly.

Welcome to the forums, @Jennifer Rogers! I hope that you will find this community at least as interesting and, for all our differences, united in our commitment to interfaith dialogue, as I do.

It would be nice to read more about yourself - of course, only as much as you feel comfortable sharing on the open internet. We have an introductions section for this purpose, and you can also find out more about all of us there.

You also linked to an online shop for devotional items. I removed those links. Please make sure to read (and agree to abide by) our Code of Conduct.

So, that's is for the housekeeping, and I am looking forward to reading more of your posts and discussing our points of view!

Good teaching. Important to remember that faith comes by hearing the word of God. Holy Spirit helps us and praying in tongues is very usefull.

"He rewards those who earnestly seek Him."

I wonder if the rewards are the same for people who sit [by a fire] with a book and seek him in their minds [group A] and for those that are out toiling in the dirt searching for what HE actually created [as per dogma #1, #51, #52][group B].
I wonder if [group A] will accept what [group B] finds.

"And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be."

peace and better times....

I am curious why your faith has lead you to Jesus and not, say, Mohammad, Krishna, or Zoroaster. Is there a way to tell what to have faith in?

I'm not sure you will get a response. From what I have seen on the web, this is not the first time that the OP has joined a forum, made one post that puts faith based material around an ad for a particular retail establishment, and then seems to disappear.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll consider making a new thread, then, if I can think of a more general way of approaching the question. Faith in general is a topic that interests me because it's something that I have a hard time understanding based only on its descriptions by philosophers like Kierkegaard and Kant.

I understand, sorry for my carelessness.

Faith is in our hearts, when you have faith in God, you will feel your life has more meaning. And no matter what religion they follow, they will also have their own beliefs with their religion. Amen.

You know what they say about Faith?
"Faith is Belief in the Absence of Evidence

I am glad to hear back from you. I will say that I have not felt like my life has had any less meaning since losing my faith in God and becoming an atheist, although I know that this is something that many people who deconvert from religion struggle with.

A lot of the times, I think faith is trust in a god that somebody already believes in. There are Fideists out there, but I don't think it's fair to paint all of the faithful with such a wide brush. The OP doesn't seem to be using faith as a reason to believe in anything.

No matter what religion you follow or not, as long as you have faith in something, your life will have more meaning.

I figured you are a Christian.

What meaning do you find in your faith? I'm asking in a spirit of interfaith dialogue.
