Faith is the foundation of Christianity

I have faith that I can hold a glass steady enough to poor a glass of juice....

I have less faith in doing so on a rocking ship.

I can lose faith in me ability if I can't hold that glass steady or my eyes can't properly direct my pouring hand.

My faith in my ability wains on my control.

My faith remains strong that gravity has not changed...that the physics will not change but I may.

If I lose my faith in my abilities...it may cause a few to question theirs....

Seemingly non sequitur statements which I have faith will cause some to think me crazy

The OP is probably trying on some sort of clickbait scam, imo
False avatar, false everything

Attempts to post concealed links by the OP will be removed

Be on guard, against PM conversations or emails involving clicking on links, imo

Hope I'm just paranoid. Therefore the OP discussion should continue?

Very good .. I like that. :)

..and some people put their faith in God, and others into more worldly things.

Yes... We need only look at the works which come through our faith to tell the difference (IMO).

Faith is what helps us to overcome difficulties when we feel the most tired

Faith is a clever device to persuade people into doing things for themselves. I'm a Satanist, I overcome my difficulties with my own two hands, so to speak. We do not rely on anyone else for our place in the world. We have no one to blame for our shortcomings other than ourselves, and when we achieve something beneficial, we gladly accept that 'we' achieved it.

I am a Christian and I am just trying to answer the above question. Because we can't force anyone to follow our religion

I hope our dialogue might be of some insight, then. Even if you disagree with our perspectives, you might still be able to learn something about your own from the fact that you disagree with ours.

That is why Jesus came for the helpless and the lost and broken

I'm new to Christianity, I joined the forum so I can learn from everyone's discussion, I'm just trying to improve myself.

I don't think anyone is entirely to blame for their shortcomings nor do I think that anyone achieves anything wholly through their own effort.

Life gives us choices. We do not get to pick the choices that life gives us. We also cannot fully control or predict the consequences of the choices we make. We are also subject to many external events throughout our lives that we have no control over and cannot be reasonably expected to foresee.

While I am a skeptic and therefore have no faith, I can appreciate the humility it takes for the faithful to admit that their success is partially due to the opportunities they have been afforded and the impotence of the random tragedies that have affected them.

Welcome! I'm sorry your first thread seems to have gotten off to a bumpy start and I hope the rest of your time here goes smoother. I'm looking forward to any questions you might have and hearing whatever input you feel ready to give. No pressure. Feel free to take things at your own pace.

It is not just you. I estimate about a 40% possibility that the OP is a bot. The fact that they are giving coherent replies at organic time intervals which fall within the same general range one would expect from consistently posting at the same time of day makes me think that they are probably human.

However, the replies are vague. This could be explained by the OP being new to the discussion and wanting to take a more passive stance until they can form more coherent opinions and give more nuanced input to the discussion, which is a reasonable approach to a new forum that I have also taken many times in the past. This could also be a particularly clever guise by whoever programmed the bot to excuse how rudimentary their keyword-based replies are.

I still think they're probably human but I'm less certain about their humanity than most posters I encounter. I think your caution is well-founded. In the more likely scenario that they are real, though, I hope this initial air of distrust does not sour them against continuing to post here.

There's a thread about Palm Sunday in this subforum now. You are welcome to participate, ask questions or share your views regarding this important Christian feast there.
