Under the nose of a king

Isn't Holland a region WITHIN the Netherlands?
people often mistakenly call the Netherlands "Holland" due to historical significance, the prominence of the two provinces, and simplified branding efforts in tourism and media. While many people use the terms interchangeably, it's more accurate to refer to the entire country as the Netherlands and reserve "Holland" for the specific provinces of North Holland and South Holland. Understanding this distinction helps acknowledge the broader cultural and geographic diversity of the country.
