17th angel,

not heard of the dis-pater! Here:

all.

October 30th Wickerman

The scariest event of the season, Archaeolink celebrates the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain when the spirits of the dead return to the land of the living. The Celtic Mythology Haunted House returns in its 2 nd year even scarier than before. Spectacular Fire Juggling and Drumming displays! Traditional Harvest Games and Spooky Storytelling make for frightening family fun. In a spectacularly spooky finale, witness the Celts take part in a human sacrifice and then set alight a giant Wickerman.

All of these rituals and traditions of Celts are simply misunderstood... they seem dark and evil, but they are just primitive ways to hope they gain a good season of food and to remain fertile lands... I don't see the dark side, just a primitive side :\ Over the years the festivals and such have just been twisted like every other thing.. :| I dunno.

i know what you are saying.
i see the dark side of it, but only in pretending. i have no religious perspective on it at all. so that is kind of confusing for me.

for example...they would carve a pumpkin to keep the bad spirit away. i would carve it to have a bad spirit come:rolleyes: . i know that is so backward, but it is all just for fun, for me.

I think there was a dark side, certainly to the wicker man in its apparency to us, although it is thought that the ancients believed they were doing good for the community with the ultimate sacrifice, the saying ‘Jesus is my druid’ comes to mind! So yes you are right even in the extreme of the case.
