Dragons everywhere you look!

The word in the Bible which you read in Genesis as "serpent" is actually NHSH
which means "to decipher, to find out", which can be taken to mean "he who can decipher, he who finds things out".
The serpent then is not a literal serpent but a person, one of the Elohim who was helping the humans to grow into maturity when the other faction just wanted to exploit them for their labor.
At least, that is another side to the story.

How does the part of making the one who finds out have to slither on the ground fit in? (relegating science to the backseat for a millenia?)
 
Smear campaign.
The one who was in dominant position used their considerable power to make the good name of the other lower than whale droppings, made to slither in the mud....all euphemisms.

We do have to keep in mind that the Bible is a book like a Readers Digest condensed book which takes previous works and boils it down to the barest points.
So the Elohim, which are actually, according to Sumerian stories, many beings called the Annunaki are reduced in Genesis to one Monotheistic being with a split personality as he keeps talking to himself and referring to the US as in let US make man in OUR image, yet we are to believe that this is one being.
 
I'm not insulting Hindu-Buddhism or Islam WILL. I said that Christiananity had the FALSE PROPHET. All three areas of religious domains today have their negetive side.

In India and China survival of the fittest is the rule. I know, Ive been there many times. So thats the Serpent.

In Islam there is a mercyless law of Justice. Whenever it abuses people it is the Beast.

We in the land of Christiandom don't have the Serpent(suvival of the fittest) we try to have mercy. We don't have a mean law of Justice. We have mercy. We don't even kill murderers in European Christian Israel because Jesus told us not to. But we have tricks that destroy and impoverish people. Thats the false profit of Capitalism.

- It is my firm opinion that mythological Dragons, Serpents and Snakes mostly are symbolizing the contours of the Milky Way.

From the Norse Mythology, we also have the great Midgaard Serpent that encircles the Earth which mythologically is called Midgard.

"The serpent grew so large that he was able to surround the Earth and grasp his own tail" - just like the Ouroboros images.

Nachash is the word for "snake". Seraph is the word for "dragon". Their roles are quite different.

In the Quran, the "jinn" are made of fire... and Satan is a jinn.

Intersting. Jesus actually uses the serpent in this sense:

...be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Matthew 10:16

I suppose the opposite of this would be "venemous as serpents and as silly as doves"

I wonder less at the impact of dragons on the psyche than at the fact that dragons keep emerging from the psyche. Why is it that children know what a dragon looks like? I once gave a class of 8 year olds the task of drawing their own dragon and nearly all of them had a roughly horse shaped head and bat-like wings.
Even exceptions to these rules (such as the Eragon stories/film) still give their dragons some kind of mane down the neck and claws among the feathers (like the hoatzin and fossil birds).

I theorise that the builders of civilisations must have discovered fossils of all kinds when excavating the rocks for their buildings and wove their stories around them.
As an aside, finding fossil sea creatures in high places could also explain why so many flood stories appeared. Their existance required some such story to explain them.
