How do the Cults explain away this?

While I realize that is the definition being used here, and the colloquial definition that has become most common. I can't find a national reputable dictionary to support that claim. Search as we might on the web, when we look at the dictionary on our shelves, that we use as students and/or adults...we are not using the word properly. Further here, Silas is refering to not the largest religous group, but all the small religous groups that make up this large one...and cult refers to all the Christian groups that don't believe as he. In this case it does not refer to any non-christian cults. Quite a specific definition, hence my consternation with such usage.

the word of God is able to open eyes to whom God wills sight be given,
very true indeed , and the bible reveals to me that Jesus really is the only- begotten son of God John 3;16 sticking to the bible is all we need to do to get an accurate understanding about Jehovah God and his son Jesus christ .John 17;3
For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life. John 3;16
This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ John 17;3
It is precisely because of this close adherence to Bible teachings that the veneration and idolization of human leaders so characteristic of cults today is not to be found among Jehovah’s Witnesses.
It is clear that Jehovah’s Witnesses are as far from being a cult as Jesus was from being a glutton and a drunkard. Admittedly, not everyone who was influenced by the false reports about Jesus and his disciples fell into the trap of slandering him. Some may simply have been misinformed. If you have questions about Jehovah’s Witnesses and their beliefs, why not get to know them better? The doors to their Kingdom Halls are wide open to all who seek truth.
JESUS CHRIST was accused of being a drunkard, a glutton, a Sabbath breaker, a false witness, a blasphemer of God, and a messenger of Satan. He was also accused of being subversive.—Matthew 9:34; 11:19; 12:24; 26:65; John 8:13; 9:16; 19:12yes the truth is always spoken of in a bad way, but those who know the truth know better, many are led to believe lies about Jehovahs witness ,just like the untruths that were spread about Jesus and his disciples .... nothing changes for true followers of christ.

I asked a straight, reasonable question, and did not ask for "proof-texting" which is what I got. Anyone out there: Tell me even ONE place where God is called a "Trinity" or "Triune" in any Bible!
there isnt one , not anywhere in the bible .it seems that many down through the centuries have been misled by false religious teachers .:(

Hmmm. The New Testament is not about Jehovah. It is about His Son, Jesus. In it Jesus indicates He is God (you say different). Tell me, did Jesus die on a cross because He claimed to be God? If so, that would explain alot of things, and verify the OT's scripture that God (Jehovah) is a jealous God, and will have no other claiming to be Him. So, therefore Jehovah had this "idiot" killed for claiming to be like Him, for being worshipped. Right? Then took pity on Him and brought back His spirit?

If all this is true, then you can't in good consience follow the NT...since it is mute. If you agree with that, then you have no faith to speak of

I'm just pointing out Mee, that there are loopholes in your reasoning (that is the JW reasoning), that I can dance a troupe of bandoliers through (and I'm not very good at that sort of dissection).

Don't sweat it none. I get the "Mary, mother of God" crap all the time too. I'm just asking questions.

Yeah, like Mr. Russel...
Just a note: The Traditional Roman Catholic Church has always used the word "cult" in the proper dictionary sense when they talk about our "Cult of Mary" or "Cult of the Mother of God." You don't hear it much anymore because of the pejorative sense that "cult" has come to have. I think it was the Fundamentalist Evangelicals who first started using the word for anything that they did not care for and wanted a bad name to apply to those other religions.

Mee, will you tell us how are JWs saved, please?

Tell me any place Aetheist is in the Bible. Divinity Monotheism...yet they are all addressed without the word.

Where is the word Watchtower or the 1914 in the Bible it isnt Mee if your going to get into the whole the word Trinity isnt in the Bible bit then everything the JW's say falls apart cause 1914 isnt stated in the Bible neither is Watchtower......see what a stupid atguement a word not being there really is.

Re: How do the Christians explain this away?

My what a superior attitude we have.
Would you rather listen to an educated Christian than an ignorant one? Dr. Billy Graham, whom I respect very much, was/is an eloquent speaker and user of education to save souls. My "superior atitude" is due to a long, arduous education, and I'm not ashamed of it or what it brought me. If I make you feel "inferior" (which you aren't), then I'm sorry. My association with the so-called "cult" people I have met or debated allowed me to find out that they, also, feel that knowledge and education is "dangerous" and "superior" because they do not really want the truth at all---they just want to argue their case in blissful ignorance (except for what their leaders tell them).

"Watchtower" is in the Bible in the Prophets, especially Ezechiel. Look in your concordance.

The words:

Trinity
Bible
Demon
Rapture
etc.

arent in the Bible. Does that mean that they dont exist? Or, are these words simply theological words used to describle what the bible teaches?

Ok Watchtower Bible and Tract Society to be exact. but please tell me where in Ezechial cause mine shows 2 times in Isa 21 and is refrence to a building not an organization.
You are correct. It is Isa. 21:8, for one place. I thought it was Ezechiel. No, it does not refer to an organization. We were both a little right and a little wrong. Does that make either one of us "superior" or "inferior"? Or does that make us more educated Christians?

"Demon" is used extensively in the NIV Bible in Matthew. How could Jesus cast out what was not there?

It makes the whole arguement some word is not in the Bible actually ridiculous I believe. I tend to believe I am fairly well educated Christian and fairly well educated about the little Bible I thump. I just tend not to give people a hard time if they type wrong or English might not be their first language. Actually Id rather have a conversation with someone that knows God does not care how learned anyone is. Give me an illiterate that loves the Lord over an educated man that tries to explain away everything anyday.
