Hero for a day

I doubt different is the word you wanted heh... but OK we'll take different. I am just against the whole idea of a "hero" It doesn't sell to me... it takes all sorts of baits to get a bite, and I just don't bite for the whole hero scene... So to say I am agaisnt everything good is a bit far I'd think... In fiction side of everything, the knight in shining armor, the man wearing his underwear outside his pants... These type of people, I just want to loose....

If you're taking it to the real world.... What makes a hero? The man who helps that old lady everyday carry home her shopping... He's a hero. The guy who saves some kid from a burning house.... That's a hero.... But he will get the "hero publicity" while many live day by day being heroes.... I think "Yeah ok you saved the kid well done... Get over it... I'd of done just the same... What do you want a medal?" I dunno hard to explain lol..
I understand you not buying into the whole hero thing, but wanting them to fall on their faces? Possibly I just don't have the same concept of what is a hero.
You made an allusion to Superman, the thing I find heroic about him is when he's Clark Kent. Giving your all for something, and never letting anyone know that's what your doing, that's heroic.

Hey cav :)

I'm praying for the right words to say here. Angel is kind of like the resident shock jock at the moment. Sometimes he may go too far, I suppose. But there is another side to him, I think. He just has a hard time letting off the clutch sometimes! ;) (Sorry if my analysis of the situation is wrong, Angel, but I don't think it is.)

What amazes me is how an innocent, sentimental article by a learned and truly nice author and father who loves his children has sparked such a ruckus! :)

Hey
Thanks InLove, it's good of you to write that but actually I was just joking with the Angel. My bad, I should have put a smiley in there.

Your confusing being a hero with being famous. The man who goes to work everyday, is faithful to his wife, and loves his family is a hero.

The man who saves a kid from a well is a hero too. There are real people who go out and do real things that help others at real risk to themselves. Wanting to feel esteem or love for that is not bad. There are lots of folk who do jack and want the feeling.

1. Yes... Being in the military you get experience with that.....

2. The person who does something because they want something in return.... Hmmm Interesting...
