Hi Everyone.

I can’t believe it is already time to post September birthdays! I need to post them early this month because I will probably be missing during the first few days.

Before I get started, I’d like to mention that the third would have been Mark’s (Prober’s) 45th birthday, according to the member’s list. Those of you who were acquainted with him know how much he is missed, especially you Chris. Your brother seemed like a beautiful person, and I’m glad we had the chance to have his input here in the forums. This past year, when I logged in on my own birthday, Mark noticed the date and surprised me with a greeting. So I just wanted to remember his, too. I hope that’s okay.

Hey September Children!

I made you guys your own little cakes this time. Kind of like cupcakes—I thought September was a good month for cupcakes for some reason or the other.

If you look closely, you should be able to find the one that is just for you! The décor is all handmade by me out of virtual sugar or sugar substitute (whichever you would like to imagine). I hope that my artwork is not too bad, or too “cheesy”. (If it is cheesy, it will have to be cream cheese or something since we are talking about dessert, right? ). If you can’t see yours, then let me know, and I will help you find it. As usual, I need to mention where I got part of my inspiration and a lot of help with this month’s project: http://www.henningscake.com/0009.JPG (I couldn’t have done it without them.)

I know that my angles are a little off and everything—kiwimac, I couldn’t make the flames show up on yours and lunamoth, I’m sorry your lunamoth looks a bit tired—that is the only way she would fit on the cake! Anyway, regardless of my level of skill, I sure had fun doing it!

There are extra cakes, as well, in case I overlooked someone who has logged in during the past year, or if you have not posted your birthday, and you are a “September”, there is still plenty to go around.

So when are these birthdays (I know some do not call them that, but I am not sure what else to call them—I think I have seen the term “arisings”)?

I hope you don’t mind that I took the privelege of plating them up for you. If they seem a bit surreal, that’s because they are (and because I am not that great at clip art.

Hey there juan!

I wanted to wish you a happy birthday on the 6th! (Scroll back to see why I have posted this so early.) I brought you your cupcake from the dessert tower on post #2. Those are supposed to be little sugar sprinkles in the shape of your current avatar—the program I used wouldn’t allow me to grab the actual picture to use as a template, so I had to do it freehand, as if I were actually decorating with candy. So, not perfect, but hopefully recognizable. I didn’t think about this before, but I really hope it was okay for me to use it in this way—if not, I certainly hope I am at least forgiven, by you as well as the object of representation.

Oh, and I know you are a brownie aficionado, so I decided to add a couple of extra gourmet items to the presentation. I didn’t know if you preferred plain or fancy, and I hope the chopped nuts are not a problem—just scrape them off if you don’t want them. As for the virtual ingredients in any item, as always, I strive to customize them according to what I think each individual would like.

Also, not long after I joined C-R, I remember reading a post of yours where you wrote about loving the beach and the palm trees and the feeling of the warm sand on your bare feet. I love that, too. So, I hope you have a great birthday, and I am wishing you….

Hi kiwimac

I hope you are still around reading and that you get this message. I realize your birthday is not until the 8th, but I had to post some greetings early, for the reason explained above. This is your own special cupcake from the dessert tray in post #2 of this thread. I apologize for not getting your avatar “sprinkled” on there just perfectly, but it is difficult enough with real ones—LOL—even harder with a mouse! I couldn’t get the flames to show up very well without losing the basic picture. Since I am not certain what it stands for (I have an idea or two), I sure do hope it was okay to use it here. If I have inadvertently commited a faux pas, I apologize for that as well. I try to research these things, but sometimes I do wind up guessing a bit.

And thank you Deb for reminding us about Mark's birthday. He would be close in age to myself (I'll be 46 this year). His presence is greatly missed.

So, here is your cake--the little guy on top there? Not sure what he is. Maybe from "Transformers" or something like that? Forgive me, as I am not well educated in some areas. Anyway, he is made of virtual sugar sprinkles, and I finally got him to look a little less like the abominable snowman--lol--my artwork is nothing to brag about. Looks like he is going straight for those chocolate swirl cookies, though. ​
