Hey!

Having lived in a snow zone for many of my years, trust me, the novelty of it all wears off after you've shoveled it for a couple of years.

flow....;)

Hey speak for yourself, I could never get sick of snow. I lived in Bavaria about 10 years ago, for 3 years, and every year I made snow angels and built snowmen in my garden (I think they heaved a sigh of relief when the crazy woman left town). Sorry but for me there is just never enough snow - although I have never lived in an arctic region, that might make me change my mind?

the snow isn't the bad part its the freezing temps along with it that makes winter months drag on. I haven't made a snow angel in years :D

Good, we've only got a few Catholics posting right now. Whenever somebody starts arguing against Catholicism and there aren't any Catholics around I feel like I have to fill in or something, as if I'd know anything about it. Maybe I just think I'm so awesome that I know everything there is to know. Its kind of sad that I could be so pompous. Anyway, what's it like to be a wayward Catholic? Oh, wait. Protestant asking stupid question!

lol, Dream opens up a two and half year old thread...like it was yesterday....and brings all into the snow....and right back with flow.

Memories flood back, glorious memories of discussions with posters who have made their transition. Some of them never saw us make our transition from CR to IO...I'm thinking theirs was probably even more seamless...

Hi there Dream,

Actually i kinda slipped away from the Catholic and went my own way! My family is strict catholic i was till i started questioning things!! I do believe in god but for some reason i find it hard to believe in things i don't see! I need realizaton on certain things.

I still always will be considered a catholic i guess just exploring other options!!

Kinda at a stand still looking for a new direction to go in! ;)

Are you sure that it's Catholicism that you lost interest in?

Hi Comet,

I too was raised a Catholic. I went to Catholic school, first holy communion, confirmation, etc., the whole nine yards. (I even signed up for the seminary but chickened out at the last moment -- I am glad now that I did not go.)

But I found I was dissatisfied with Catholicism (1) because I did not like -- and still do not like -- the answers I was getting to my never-ending questions and (2) many Catholics (especially the priests and nuns) resented my questions. (Why were they resenting my questions? We are supposed to ask questions to get a better understanding, aren't we...?)

I have since moved on and found a belief system that works much better for me. I can only hope that, if Catholicism works for you, go for it, and that if it does not, that you can find something better. (There are certainly a lot of choices out there.)

Which parts of Catholicism do and do not fit into your own personal belief system?

Are you sure that it's Catholicism that you lost interest in?

Yes! Ever since the sex scadal with the priests and other things that made me loose interest! Also i don't believe in sitting i church and getting dressed up to follow someone i can not see! If that makes sense.

I rebelled against it when i was old enough and started asking questions!! :D

Lost interest in the ways of catholic sorry if i offended anyone here just my points of view!

Comet, you said,

"Also i don't believe in sitting i church and getting dressed up to follow someone i can not see! If that makes sense."

--> It sounds like you are saying two things. One is the idea that the keeping-up-with-the-Joneses attitude of wearing nice clothes to church is more important to some people than what the priest is actually saying, which of course has nothing to do with spirituality. The other is more important: Are you saying you do not follow Jesus or God because you cannot see them?

"I rebelled against it when i was old enough and started asking questions!!"

--> What questions did you ask but not get good answers to?

"Lost interest in the ways of catholic sorry if i offended anyone here just my points of view!"

--> I am not offended at all. I think that, if anyone is offended, they are offended that you are learning to think for your own and that you are rebelling against the over-rigidity of church. dogma (I do not see these things as a bad thing at all.)
