Let Sexy Jesus Rock You?

Gotta love those targeted ads, especially when they're about movies - although how a "rock me sexy jesus" song appears in a sequel to Hamlet is, umm.... probably what I would expect from the producers of South Park BLU, and Team America....

When something troubles us it presents a wonderful chance to contemplate why doesn't it?

I look at the Olympics, folks win races and run around with their flag like a cape, rolling on the ground, dancing with it, glory to their country.

Americans can't do this as it is disrespectful.

We wonder why the Muslims get upset about Mohamed cartoons and then get upset when someone has some fun with Jesus...

I have long wanted to return to brush on canvas, and you have just given me the final push I needed. Thank you :)

Because they are both highly revered and respected Prophets of Allah??!!

Just a wild guess on my part of course ;)

Dunno. Seems I saw the mexican-american wrestler dancing around with the US flag, and I saw no objections.

But ringing a car lot with 50 huge American flags, and then leaving them out in bad weather or at night without being illuminated...that I find objectionable.

Yes they have been handing out these thin plastic flags for the medal winners to drape themselves in...and they do appear to be handled a little less gingerly than they used to be...maybe a change is afoot?

As to the bad weather and night, you are aware of whence that came yes? Our indigenous youth used to climb the flagpole and steal the flag from the forts. It became one of the right of passage type things for the young braves. Cost the US Army so much in flag replacements that a military rule was added, post a centry or light it, as night and inclement weather was when they'd steal it. Finely woven fabric like that was valuable to the Native American's and turning it into clothes wasn't appreciated either...

lol it's just a flag.... Nothing more..

A bazillion American kids have pledged allegiance to the flag. They make you do that in school. There are a lot of us coots who think that our flag should be treated a certain way. It shouldn't be burned. It shouldn't touch the ground. It shouldn't be left up at night unless it's illuminated. I learned that stuff in scouts. There's a big difference between that and the nationalism that's on display at the Olympics. The truth is that professional sports has ruined everything. But it's cool to see ping pong and volleyball given their due.

Yeah, it's just a flag. I don't know why it can get me teary.
