Jesus is a reigning king

Jesus is no longer a babe as depicted in nativity scenes , but he is NOW a reigning king in Gods heavenly kingdom goverment

Daniel 2;44 Daniel 7;13-14 And he was GIVEN Rulership, dignity, and kingdom.

NOW is the time to put our trust in this REIGNING KING .

NOW is the especially exceptable time , i am waving my symbolic palm branch to welcome Gods newly crowned king and it is the only way to salvation . REVELATION 7;9-10

he recieved his kingship at the end of the gentile times in 1914, and NOW he is a reigning king in Gods heavenly kingdom Daniel 2;44

soon that reigning king will go into action , at the command from his father JEHOVAH.

NOW is the time to put our trust in the kingdom of God .

DO NOT PUT YOUR TRUST IN NOBLES NOR IN THE SON OF EARTHLING MAN, TO WHOM NO SALVATION BELONGS

Do not put your trust in nobles, nor in the son of earthling man, to whom no salvation belongs. . . . Happy is the one who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Jehovah his God." (Ps. 146:3-5)

Gods reigning king ,JESUS CHRIST is the one that God has choosen .

To look to men for salvation is the height of folly.

Isaiah’s prophecy explains why: "Look! All you who are igniting a fire, making sparks light up, walk in the light of your fire, and amid the sparks that you have set ablaze. From my hand you will certainly come to have this: In sheer pain you will lie down." (Isaiah 50:11)

Human leaders come and go. A charismatic individual may capture the imagination of the people for a while.

But even the most sincere human is limited in what he can accomplish.

Instead of lighting a roaring fire, as his supporters expect, he may succeed only in igniting a few "sparks," which give off a small measure of light and heat but soon die out.

On the other hand, those who put their trust in Shiloh, God’s promised Messiah, will never be disappointed.

Interestingly, the Bible book of Revelation mentions a symbolic "wild beast" and says that the "dragon," who is Satan the Devil, "gave to the beast its power and its throne and great authority." (Rev. 12:7-9; 13:1, 2)

In Daniel’s prophecy, various animals, including very ferocious beasts, are used to signify political entities. (Dan. 7:1-28; 8:3-8, 20-22)

Therefore, the symbolic "wild beast" to which the Dragon gave power, throne and authority is the Devil’s visible earthly political organization.

No wonder that people find human governments unsatisfying.

Already Jehovah has taken decisive action for man’s benefit by establishing in heaven the kingdom of his immortal, glorified Son, Jesus Christ.

Soon that kingdom will replace human leaders and governments. (Dan. 2:44; 1 Cor. 2:6; Rev. 11:15-18)

Then mankind will know true freedom and happiness.:)

Possibly not if this thread stays in the B&S forum.

Hi Mee —

The problem is, unless you can show me where Scripture says 1914, it's a mand-made tradition.

As Judge Rutherford has done ... ?

for those who did not fall asleep to bible prophecy and chronology the date of 1914 is very clear indeed, and now we are well along into bible prophecy and chronology .

And talking about dear brother rutherford these were his words

Advertise the King and the Kingdom! (1919-1941)

"Do you believe that the King of glory has begun his reign? Then back to the field, O ye sons of the most high God! Gird on your armor! Be sober, be vigilant, be active, be brave. Be faithful and true witnesses for the Lord. Go forward in the fight until every vestige of Babylon lies desolate. Herald the message far and wide. The world must know that Jehovah is God and that Jesus Christ is King of kings and Lord of lords. This is the day of all days. Behold, the King reigns! You are his publicity agents. Therefore advertise, advertise, advertise, the King and his kingdom."

THAT dramatic call to action delivered by J. F. Rutherford at the international convention at Cedar Point, Ohio, in 1922, had a profound influence on those in attendance. The Bible Students left that convention with a burning desire to advertise the Kingdom.

yes, after rutherford and others with him , were released from prison ,(after being falsely charged and put in prison )

it was back to the work of the lord ,and advertise advertive advertise the king and the kingdom . no losing his focus then .:)

Not in the least. It's a man-made-up date (in terms of prophecy) that has no Scriptural nor even Traditional basis. It is a false prophecy, akin to the "powers" of Simon Magus.

for those who did not fall asleep , the focus is very clear, but many have no focus at all .
in fact they have that veil on good and proper:( 2 corinthians 4;4

but no worries Jesus sheep hear his voice :) and they are busy busy busy in the work of the lord .

And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come. matthew 24;14

the end of critical times is soon to come but the GOODNEWS is NOW being made known . and it is for a witness , or to put people on notice about it .

GODS KINGDOM IS THE ONLY WAY TO SALVATION

:)
Also, in all the nations the good news has to be preached first. MARK 13;10

:) FIRST THINGS FIRST:) advertize ADVERTIZE ADVERTIZE

the GREAT CROWD doing that advertizing is getting LOUDERand LOUDER as the years go by , and its all happening in this time of the end REV 7;9-10

The message of Jehovah’s established Kingdom and of the spiritual paradise enjoyed by God’s people is a "sacred secret" simply too grand to keep.

As Jesus himself so clearly stated, his followers must, with the help of the holy spirit, be witnesses "to the most distant part of the earth"

Isaiah, describing Jesus since 1914, says:

"His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6)

The apostle Paul associated Jesus’ name with His very high privileges of service when he wrote: "God exalted [Jesus] to a superior position and kindly gave him the name that is above every other name, so that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend."—Philippians 2:9, 10.

Hi Mee —

... the date of 1914 is very clear indeed ...
OK. Can you can show me where it says '914' then, please?

Assuming you can't, I'm with Dogbrain on this one.

Furthermore, in spite of everything you say, there is this:
"They ... asked him, saying: Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? But he said to them: It is not for you to know the times or moments, which the Father hath put in his own power" Acts 1:7-8.
Seems to me you are saying you know the times and the moments, which is testing the patience of God, I would have thought ... and disobeying the Scripture, after it is clear that we should not presume to seek such knowledge.

There is prophecy contained in Scripture, and it is stated as such — but that's quite different from using Scripture as an instrument of prophecy, that's a form of magic called divination ... and that's bad ... very, very bad.

And talking about dear brother rutherford these were his words:
Behold, the King reigns! You are his publicity agents. Therefore advertise, advertise, advertise, the King and his kingdom."

Publicity agent?:eek::mad: is that what you think a Christian is, a salesman? Perhaps that's what the JW's are all about, selling bibles door to door, and all this blather is just ... publicity ...

The Apostles and martyrs must be so pleased to know you've reduced the message of salvation to a self-promoting advertising campaign!

THAT dramatic call to action delivered by J. F. Rutherford at the international convention at Cedar Point, Ohio, in 1922, had a profound influence on those in attendance. The Bible Students left that convention with a burning desire to advertise the Kingdom.
And follow Rutherford ... and the tradition of his own invention ...

it was back to the work of the lord ,and advertise advertive advertise the king and the kingdom.
That's Rutherford's messgae, not the Lord's message.

no losing his focus then .:)
No, he seemed set on his own aggrandisement, and he achieved it.

Thomas

jesus wasn't a king though- just a working class lad... a crown of thorns, not of gold...

but look at him NOW he is riding that symbolic white horse and he was GIVEN a crown.

AND HE HAS BEEN GIVEN RULERSHIP DIGNITY AND KINGDOM daniel 7;13-14 :)

"They ... asked him, saying: Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? But he said to them: It is not for you to know the times or moments, which the Father hath put in his own power" Acts 1:7-8.

Thomas
yes i like this part of the bible it is most relavent to what we are talking about ,

it was not the time for God to reveal things at that time, about when the kingdom would be established , God had his time , and it wasnt then.

things were for a future time , in the last days .

6 When, now, they had assembled, they went asking him: "Lord, are you restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?" 7 He said to them: "It does not belong to YOU to get knowledge of the times or seasons which the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction; 8 but YOU will receive power when the holy spirit arrives upon YOU, and YOU will be witnesses of me both in Jerusalem and in all Ju·de´a and Sa·mar´i·a and to the most distant part of the earth." 9 And after he had said these things, while they were looking on, he was lifted up and a cloud caught him up from their vision. 10 And as they were gazing into the sky while he was on his way, also, look! two men in white garments stood alongside them, 11 and they said: "Men of Gal´i·lee, why do YOU stand looking into the sky? This Jesus who was received up from YOU into the sky will come thus in the same manner as YOU have beheld him going into the sky."

but notice what happened after he said those things in verse 9 ,he was lifted up and a cloud caught him up from their vision. he became INVISIBLE

And as the next verse goes on to say his coming would be in the same way INVISIBLE

and so it is , it is in heaven that he came into kingdom power. CANT SEE IT :)

Hi Mee —

Publicity agent?:eek::mad: is that what you think a Christian is,

Thomas
matthew 24;14
And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.

yes it is good to be a part of the public message that JESUS is having made known

and it is for a witness ,or to put people on notice . and it is being heralded far and wide in more ways than one . even on the net ,

Jehovahs official site is there for all to see. Jehovah's Witnesses: Watchtower Society Official Web Site

and the preaching about the kingdom is going on ( knock knock on the door) and the gathering of the GREAT CROWD goes on rev 7;9-10 its all happening in the time of the end. true worship is out there,
and the reigning king Jesus is directing that great preaching work .

and his angels are working inline with it .

6 And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, and he had everlasting good news to declare as glad tidings to those who dwell on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people, 7 saying in a loud voice: "FEAR God and give him glory, because the hour of the judgment by him has arrived, and so worship the One who made the heaven and the earth and sea and fountains of waters."
revelation 14;6;-7

jesus wasn't a king though- just a working class lad... a crown of thorns, not of gold...

that was then , but look at him NOW he is a reigning king and he has recieved his kingship , and he has dignity, rulership, and kingdom .and things are working out just fine .

In the scene described by John, the hosts of heaven are rendering melodious acclaim to Jesus in acknowledgment of his faithfulness and his heavenly authority.

Just as the achievements of a human son can bring great credit to parents, so Jesus’ loyal course redounds among all creation "to the glory of God the Father." Thus, John goes on to report: "And every creature that is in heaven and on earth and underneath the earth and on the sea, and all the things in them, I heard saying: ‘To the One sitting on the throne and to the Lamb be the blessing and the honor and the glory and the might forever and ever.’"—Revelation 5:13.

When does this superb anthem sound forth? It began early in the Lord’s day. After Satan and his demons were cast out of the heavens, in 1914
"every creature that is in heaven" could unite in this song of praise.

And, as the record shows, since 1919 a growing multitude on earth have united their voices in praising Jehovah, increasing from a few thousand to about seven million by the year 2008. After Satan’s earthly system has been destroyed, "every creature . . . on earth" will be singing the praises of Jehovah and his Son.

In Jehovah’s own due time, the resurrection of the countless millions of dead will begin, and then "every creature . . . underneath the earth" that is in the memory of God will have the opportunity to join in singing the anthem.

As the spiritual light of understanding grew brighter, the Bible Students began to perceive some thrilling Bible truths. (Prov. 4:18)

The understanding of these precious truths gave a powerful impetus to their work of proclaiming God’s Kingdom.

At the same time, they had to adjust their thinking—and for some this was a real test.
Some abandoned their hope. But the vast majority of the Bible Students remained faithful.

and look where we are now :) ENLIGHTENMENT INDEED yes there has been much sifting and testing from within .

As the 1920’s and then the 1930’s progressed, more flashes of Bible understanding followed.

Worldly celebrations and holidays, such as Christmas, were put away.

Other practices and beliefs were also discarded when it was seen that they had God-dishonoring roots.

More than abandoning wrong practices and beliefs, though, the Bible Students continued to look to Jehovah for progressive revelations of truth.

"‘You are my witnesses,’ is the utterance of Jehovah, ‘and I am God.’" (Isa. 43:12)

Many people thought that when J. F. Rutherford, president of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, died on January 8, 1942, at the height of World War II and worldwide persecution of Jehovah’s witnesses, the work of the society would die out.

.
However, those who thought that did not appreciate that the kingdom of the heavens was already established.

Christ Jesus was enthroned as King in the heavens and had cast Satan the Devil out of heaven.

What was happening in the earth among all the nations was due to the Devil, as Revelation 12:10-12 prophesied:
"I heard a loud voice in heaven say: ‘Now have come to pass the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ, because the accuser of our brothers has been hurled down, who accuses them day and night before our God! . . . Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time."’

Jehovah’s witnesses know that the work of God goes on regardless of men and that when Jesus said the good news of the Kingdom would be preached first and then the end would come, that is what would take place.

There was still work to be done. Jehovah’s witnesses got to doing it with no hesitation.

Yeah lovely..... One question... Where does this fit in on 'Belief and Spirituality.' "General thinking BEYOND the boundaries of religion and organised belief" ????????

Call me tedious Alex (go on, you know you want to) but that's what I meant in the second post .

Surely this should be in the Christianity forum? It's Christian evangelising, end of.

If a mod doesn't move it, it's open season I presume:

If Jesus existed, then it was a long time ago. So he is not doing anything in the present tense, reigning or anything else. So he's not a king anywhere. He lived and he died. No amount of quotes from a book written by men will change that.

well it is my BELIEF that Jesus is NOW a reigning king , just as bible Prophecy and chronology reveals , and he has certainly organized his people for the preaching work. And they are certainly living in a SPIRITUAL paradise. And their hope is to be a part of the litral paradise yet to come . :)
BELIEF AND SPIRITUALITY and it is very good:)

Matthew 25:5 "While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept." Did someone not fall asleep?

yes indeed , in their weakened state, but as soon as that cry went forth the discreet virgins proved their faithfulness

The ten virgins remind us of anointed Christians before 1914. They had calculated that the bridegroom, Jesus Christ, was about to make an appearance. Hence, they "went out" to meet him, boldly preaching that "the appointed times of the nations" would end in 1914.—Luke 21:24.

They were correct. The appointed times of the nations did end in 1914, and God’s Kingdom under Christ Jesus went into operation.

A time of testing ensued.

Not understanding things clearly, anointed Christians thought that "the bridegroom was delaying." Confused and facing hostility from the world, generally they slowed down and virtually stopped the organized public preaching work.

Like the virgins in the parable, spiritually speaking they "nodded and went to sleep," even as unfaithful professed Christians did after Jesus’ apostles died.—Matthew 25:5; Revelation 11:7, 8; 12:17.

Then in 1919 something unexpected happened. We read: "Right in the middle of the night there arose a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Be on your way out to meet him.’

Then all those virgins rose and put their lamps in order." (Matthew 25:6, 7)

Just when things seemed darkest, there was a call to get active! In 1918,

Jesus, "the messenger of the covenant," had come to Jehovah’s spiritual temple to inspect and cleanse God’s congregation. (Malachi 3:1)

Now, anointed Christians needed to go out and meet him in the earthly courtyards of that temple. It was time for them to "shed forth light."—Isaiah 60:1; Philippians 2:14, 15.

but only the faithful ones were willing to do that ,because the evil ones went away and verbally abused christs brothers .:(

He lived and he died.

s.
very true indeed ,he was alive on the earth and he did die , but NOW he is a reigning king in the heavenly kingdom.

and one thing is for sure, christendom as a whole do not welcome Jesus as a reigning king , and they do not recognize fullfilled bible prophecy and chronology . they have lost their focus to the bible and what it teaches in more ways than one .

and they like it that way

that was then , but look at him NOW he is a reigning king and he has recieved his kingship , and he has dignity, rulership, and kingdom .and things are working out just fine .

Wow - this new king seems to be doing a pretty lousy job ruling the earth if that's the case. :)
