Mahalo nui dauer - hope you get this response. I have several great nieces in the path of the storm but it has been downgraded - thanks for your concern. I don't live in Hawaii however, I am in California - so I'm well out of the path of the storm. I got laid off from my job, so I have more time to browse. I am so enjoying the exchange between you Avi, and BB on "renewal for liberals". Someday I expect to buy a book written by you. me ke aloha pumehana, poh
yeah been on a lot of sorry whale watching trips...this was the best ever...a couple of fantastic breaches ..lot of sightings...two whales visited boat...one played with us for 20 minutes under one side to the other rolling and stareing with that bowling ball sized eye just a couple feet beyond reach...incredible...I'll go a dozen more times to have that experience just once again...
If you have a chance to head upto P-town and go whale watching we had a wonderful trip. The kids were small and we picked a research vessel. So your money for the excursion assists the research project. The downside is they are doing research, and each siting requires identification and timing between breaths (to keep a log to determine health) the upside is they are doing research, and know each whale and thier lineage and age etc. btw...saw one of those sunfish there...ala Tao's picture and flowpersons avatar....memories..
Dauer, if I hear you correctly I think I agree, I don't want to disrupt your thread. But I am considered a liberal christian when in reality, I think my beliefs are more conservative than many others. The difference is they pay homage to doctrine and ritual, and we believe actions and thoughts are important.
They play a literal game of rules...and we work with intent and love.
