From my experience the bible can be quoted to cover any situation and give both sides of the argument. Most quotations are taken out of context and used "to fit the bill". For almost every quote a converse qoute can be found.

Hello I am oldgordy and new to the forum. I have an interest in all religions but cannot class myself as having one of the "usual" denominations as nothing quite fits the faith that I hold. Easier to say most religions follow part but none all. Perhaps there are some here who feel the same way...

I agree that the Bible was written by many hands and minds. For me , however , the question is more who translated and edited the bible and how much was lost or distorted in the process.
