What evidence? What idea?
The Exodus meta-narrative is one of the most compelling in history. It is absolutely true and may even have traces of historicity.
The OP asks: "What would the child be if the father is Muslim and mother Jewish? " I just do not understand what liberal Christian belief or your view on the Exodus has to do with that question. Sorry if I sounded terse.
That is remarkable. The standard joke among Jews is: "Two Jews, three opinions." In fact, Judaism both fosters and legitimatizes depute. See, for example, this well known bit of midrash.
SHJ is Rabbi Wine's (ז״ל) Society for Humanistic Judaism. I was a member (in fact, a board member) of a small SHJ synagogue for a few years. Rabbi Wine was an interesting man. His death was tragic.
Actually, I think I'm asking the right person, and the question was not "which is completely right" but, rather, whether the two positions are equally informed.
Let's try something else.
Would you agree that Young Earth Creationism is a matter of faith?
If so, would you claim that this faith position and the scientific consensus are equally informed?
Whether or not "everyone agrees" is not the issue; not everyone agrees with the evolution paradigm, but that fact hardly renders Young Earth Creationism and evolution equally legitimate narratives.
Perhaps you and I should discuss Isaiah 7:14 someday. :)
There are too many to mention, but two of my favorites are Num 25:11-12 - not so much what it says but how it is physically rendered in the Masoretic text, andIsa 45:7 - as a great example of the the use of Biblical parallelism to inform the text. But the entire Tanakh is littered with jewels.
Perhaps I misunderstood what you meant by "beyond changing the actual wording of the scripture, one persons interpretations do not necessarily match another's".
Except, of course, when the views are pure nonsense. I far prefer those who post informed opinions over those who share their speculations under the misguided presumption that all opinions are created equal.
