When I was school-age, many of the kids would put jingle bells on their shoelaces in December. This seems like a good year to revive this tradition. Maybe I'll stop by the craft store and pick up some jingle bells and elastic cords and give them to my coworkers for their kids.

I would say this spiritual by-passing is a recipe for building unskillful habits/karma. Unproductive, imo.

How would such a being guard against delusion? (If everything is a product of an all-powerful being's mind?) I would think that creating a sentient being with free will who can in turn create something that is not a product of the all-powerful being's mind might be in order.

In a nutshell: everything you experience (sensory data, thoughts, feelings, communications, etc,) is subjectively processed. The Oneness of everything you experience, as well as the experience of Oneness, may just be due to the Oneness of your subjective mind.

Regarding the feeling of oneness: yes, I have experienced it. However, my contemplations regarding it have steered my conclusions regarding the experiences towards a different explanation than what most other mystics have.
