I guess Im going to start this thread about personal experiences with these two.

First off I think the big mistake is to think of them like having horns and wings. From biblical stories we know that angels can look just like us and demons are just a fallen angel so you could suppose they would look just like us.

Here is a biblical view on them

What does the Bible say about demons?

My most recent experience with a demon was with my mother who is my more than just my mother.. God has given us a special relationship that has been an annointing in that we are prayer partners. We have experienced awesome things and seen miracles happen through these prayers.

She was down in texas to visit me and we were on our way to lunch. We had an awesome morning praying and discussing scripture when I noticed we needed some gas so I pulled in and before I could get out of the car a hispanic man came up to the car and asked for some money for him and his son who was waiting at a restaurant for him.

I said sure and (this is not like me) but I told him he had to talk to me first. My mom didnt want me to do this but I was compelled.. (If you have never been compelled to do something out of your own will you will not understand this) I asked him if he knew Jesus Christ and this man said he went to church when he was a kid but that was a long time ago so I started giving him the gospel message. I could see the struggle on his face and in his reactions.. and I know God was working in this mans life and that I was saying something he needed to hear He had just agreed to pray with me and right at the point in this conversation I want to remind you we are at a gas station and there wasnt anyone in line waiting for us but there were cars at other pumps.

There was a woman standing outside of her car 4 pumps down from us and our attention was drawn to her because she was flipping pissed off ranting and ravng about how we are holding up this companies business and we need to take this somewhere else. Remember there was noone else around.... The woman started yelling and calling us Jesus freaks and making remarks like how are Jesus was dead and cant do anything and she was going to call the cops to stop this... my mom got out of the car and confronted this woman and called her a four eyed monster... and started telling her to leave in the name of Jesus which REALLY pissed off this woman.. Im telling you she was going to hit my mom.

During all of this Im standing there with my mouth hanging open.. I cant move. The things that struck me was that this woman hated us.. I mean this was beyond rudeness it was pure spitting malice. Ive never been face to face with pure hate and this is what this was. Another thing that struck me was that my mom called this woman a four eyed monster and she didnt wear glasses. It ended up with the woman leaving rather quickly and my mom standing there like she was 6 foot tall.

So we concluded with this guy with a prayer and he told me never mind about the money.. lol

My mom and I started talking about this and I asked her why she called the woman four eyed and she didnt recall doing that.. she just remembered getting pissed and going off on her and she did a lot more than that. She had quoted scripture to the woman and called her that name and telling her that she had no authority in the name of Jesus Christ.

Later on mom told me that she had heard reference to four eyed as watcher demons. I knew about spiritual warfare up to this point but I had never gotten a personal in the face experience with it.. I just knew that there were enemies and that I need to pray. Another thing is that we would normally have been compelled to pray for someone like her but we didnt this time as a matter of fact we felt strongly that we had been in a very dangerous situation and we should pray for ourselves. Weird that.

I know this sounds hokey... lol it would have been to me a few years ago... but you really had to be there. It was like nothing I had ever experienced and no way can I convey in text or even explain after the fact.

I have other things and stories from other people I know... But I have to go for now.

Thank you FS for starting this thread and sharing this. Like I said, this subject fascinates, it always did. I guess,I should share something to make you sound less "hokey" lol ;) Well, the thing is, I have actually a lot of weird experiences that I witnessed and stories about demons that happened to me ever since I was a kid. I mean stuff that has been very real and observable... and has been observed by people other then myself. So it can't be classified as my own hallucinations.

There are a lot of stories that I can tell, but some of them are kind of personal and/or sensitive. But one which isn't as such is actually my first experience with the... paranormal... which I witnessed when I was probably 6 or 7 years old. In the city I used to live in growing up, our grandfather's house was very close to our own. So usually in the evenings my familly would go over to their house. And I used to be friends with most of the kids in the neighborhood. The kid who lived right next to my grandfather's house, had a couple of siblings. His oldest sister, used to be kind of a mysterious figure. We would usually never see her, every now and then she would pop up but we always saw her by herself. She seemed like a very nice, reserved and well behaved kid. Kind of a rarity for a kid in her late teens (I think she was probably in her late teens).

Anyways, she had this... ability. Now, I know this will sound... just.... out there. But I swear to God... I myself have not yet come to grips with this "ability" of hers. I mean... this was straight out of that movie "The Craft"... I mean, even the words she said before she did it were the exact same... and this was years before that movie even came out!!!! ... ok...... you know that scene in which they try that levitation spell?

"Light as a feather, stiff as a board" ????

Yea... well guess what... Not only did I see her levitate us kids one by one. I levitated myself. And I don't mean like a couple of inches above ground. I mean like.... all of the kids who surrounding me, standing up, with their arms fully above their heads, holding up my weight with just their index and middle fingers below me...

I swear to God I am not making this up. And I still have no idea what the hell was going on. Because I remember this only worked when she was at the head of the procession. We tried to do it without her so many times, but it NEVER worked. She wouldn't even do it most of the time until we just kept bugging her and bugging her until ever once a while she would be like "yea ok".... She always used to sit above the head of the person, with the person who was to be levitated lying down, and all of us sitting around the person with both our index and middle fingers under the person.

Then she would tell us all to be quiet (just like in the movie rite) but one thing was different. Before she started to speak, she used to recite something under her breath. She would never let us listen to what it was, she would just say that she was "praying".... but we all had this feeling like it was some... spell.... or something. I mean we don't know, maybe she was just saying jiberish you know... Whatever it was, it frekkin worked every frekkin time! Well.. I guess not every time. Because some times a couple of us kids wouldn't close our eyes *(I always peeked and never fully closed my eyes)* She said that we all needed to concentrate, and that if we had our eyes open, then we wouldnt be able to concentrate.

And that was very true, because we could always tell if someone was peeking or not, by the weight of the person as he floated above our fingers. (leaving me out, as I always peeked) if another kid peeked, and I could always tell who was peeking cuz I was always peeking (lol), then the person would feel heavier... and then whenever the person would be above our heads, we would all open our eyes *(she would tell us to open them at that point) and the person would just FALL straight down man! It was hilarious...

But damn... I mean... I still can not figure out what the hell that was.. I mean, was that black magic? Or was that just some power that this person had herself? I mean, we all had our own theories... some kids thought that she was just... "special".. other kids thought she was a witch... whatever it was, even my friend (her brother) never knew what the hell was up (or at least thats what he told us)...

I know this might not qualify under the heading "angels and demons".... but then again, if it was black magic (which I am not even fully sure exists in the same way they say it does) then demons could be involved.

I've got other stories too, but I actually wanna hear more from other people.

Funny how they take the guise of people we would never think to be hateful.

7 July 1986 2:30 in the afternoon, while walking from the parking garage on Alaskan Way in Seattle to the Federal Building, I passed an elderly woman with white hair and a gentle smile. I nodded politely her way and said "good afternoon".

As soon as we passed, she whirled around and began growling the vilest curses I've ever heard (and I've hear alot in my time). Her previously sweet face had twisted into such a horrific mask of rage and insanity, that I almost looked away. But I didn't. I just stood there, watching her rant and yell. She kept screaming "We don't want you here!" (I was in a business suit with longer hair, so there was no way she could know what I was or what I did for a living).

At that point, I could sense a voice inside me saying "Be still, and know I am God". I thought back "yes sir", and didn't move, or take my eyes off the woman.

Then suddenly, she stopped screaming, and looked around as if dazed and confused. She looked in my direction, but I swear she looked right through me, past me as if I wasn't there. She couldn't see me.

Her face softened and she turned and walked away (obviously shaken).

I just watched her walk, with half a smile on my face.

That's not the end of this story.

As I finally turned to head to the Federal Building movement caught the corner of my eye. I turned to see papers skitting across the parking lot, and a stack of them by the trunk of a car. For some reason, my curiousity was piqued and I walked over to where the papers lay.

I would have normally ignored the "litter" except for one small detail...each page was stamped with "TOP SECRET" in bold blue ink...needless to say, being the good Federal agent, I scrambled around the parking lot to gather every page.

You should have seen the look on the faces of the FBI when I dropped one of their classified files in their lap, and explained where I found it... lol

God has one heck of a sense of humor...:D

Hebrews 13:2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Years ago there was a plane crash into the Potomac river, I remember watching the rescue effort on TV. There was a man in the water who helped person after person get into the rescue harness so the helicopter could take them away. When everybody else was saved, he slipped under water and disappeared. They never found his body.

Maybe it is wishful thinking on my part, I sure can't prove anything, but I am convinced that man was an angel. Not just in the figurative sense, I believe he was literally an angel.

I have other stories too that lead me to believe, and like Code some of them are really personal.

WoW... amazing stories.

I'm thinking about which event I should tell next... hmmm...

You guys are talking mostly about demons and angels. Ive got a couple of encounters with... some of these. But to tell you the truth, I do not know which one were demons and which ones were angels LoL. They probably were all demons.

My aunt's house in Lahore (Pakistan) is very weird in the sense that everyone in my familly who is a little... "connected" has sensed energies there. A lot of people have told me their own stories about that house, but I have two of my own. Actually, the first one happened when I visited Pakistan like 8 years ago, and the second one is when I visited 4 years. I actually even have a story about when I visited last time, 2 years ago, but this one happened in my room where I stay at my grandparents house... but this one was not really that obvious.

Ok, so quickly... The first time, in my aunt's house, I was catching some ZzZzZzs during the evening, like when the sun was going down. I remember, waking up... in the middle of sleep. My body was paralyzed, and I couldnt move. The curtains were closed but the sun still had not gone down completely so there was some light coming in. And I couldnt move... like my eyes were open, and I was fully awake. And around my bed, I saw 3.... things. Like shadows, with a dark blue outline. Just... specters. Like you could see the outline, but when you look in the middle, theres just.... black. They were tall, and two were standing right next to the bed on the side I was sleeping, and one at the foot of the bed right infront of me. I looked at them, for what must have been like 7-10 seconds I think.... and then all of a sudden, I just passed out... but it wasnt like I just passed out because I was tired... because I wasnt. I was like in amazement. I wanted to get up, for some reason I actually thought these were angels or something. I just got this good feeling you know? Not like a scary one. But right then when I tried to move, it like I was just forced to sleep.

The next time, it was years afterwords, and this time it was like 3 or 4 AM. I was just lying in bed... but I couldnt sleep. So I started smoking (I used to smoke like a chimney back then)... So I'm lying in bed... and I get this wierd feeling, like I am not alone. And I already know this house has a history, and I was in the same spot the last time, so I am getting like goose bumps now rite... and all of a sudden... I start hearing sounds coming from the bathroom. Like... scratches on the wooden door. Now at first, I'm just like... yea thats probably like... a rat or something. Because the scratches sounded like they were coming from the lower part of the door. and they were pretty light so I was like, im just being paranoid... And then... oh man... this is actually funny... the damn door knob started to turn. Like I could hear someone actually trying to open the door from the inside of the washroom.... And im like.... WHAT THE !@#@!@#!@@!#@#!@... but I don't really know what to do rite... I mean like... what the hell can you do in that situation? So I just light another smoke... and another... and another.. just sitting there hearing the scratches, and the knob turning... and me taking massive drags and blowing Os like I dont hear anything... and in my head Im just like "I dont care.... I dont care... I dont care...." Cuz I know in these situations... if you give in to fear... your screwed... like totally. So Im just trying to ignore reality... pretending like everything's fine rite... and then... all of a sudden.. thank God! the Azan gets started.. (thats the Muslim call to prayer)... and as soon as that sound of the Azan comes, the sounds coming from the bathroom stop. Like immediatly! And I get this calm sense of security just wash over me... I put the damn cig out, and put my head in the pillow, and go to sleep.

I have a couple of other stories like that, one of them actually was witnessed by like a van full of my friends, this was like 2 years ago, but this was in Canada. We went down to this haunted park location we found on the internet. Supposedly a very haunted location... We all went there looking for... well... demons I guess. Anyways, everyone saw more stuff then me ironically... everytime I looked whatever people were pointing at just disappeared. Almost as if I was the only one it was trying to hide itself from. I did catch a glimpse of it though one time as it was disappearing. I just saw two red glowing eyes disappearing into the bushes.

A lot of other little stories like that... but I think thats enough for now. Ive typed waaaaaaaaaay to much. besides, i think im running out of the non-personal ones anyway. And others, are just too sensitive because they involve some close friends or relatives, and I dont think I should post those on an internet forum. I'll try to remember more non-consequential ones...

Hope you guys have more though, cuz I already know mine.

Heres another one that happened the same visit my mom made to Texas.

Me and my mom had gotten in a fight on a Sunday afternoon. My mom took off walking in our neighborhood which is pretty big and because she was angry she wasnt paying attention so that soon she was quite lost.

I stayed at home and waited for her to call me on her cell phone so that I could go rescue her but I knew that we both needed to chill out so I didnt say anything when she took off.. well I waited and waited and waited for probably 3 hours. I was getting more and more worried so I jumped in the car to look for her and could not find her.

3 hours later she comes back saying she got lost and Im asking her what happened why didnt she call me in which she replies that she left her purse with her phone at the house... DUH!!

She then proceeded to tell me what happened and the story brought her and I both to tears.

She had taken off walking and just flat out being mad and resentful and realized that she didnt know how long she had been walking for or which direction she came from. She tried backtracking and found that she really was lost and sat down on the corner crying when she realized she didnt bring her phone or any money... she didnt have my number memorized... she never needed to because of her cell phone.. worse even that she couldnt remember ever knowing the name of the street! ...DUH!

Time went past and she started praying to God for help and soon she realized that there was a postal truck across the street and a guy calling out to her asking her if she needed help. She of course was relieved and they pulled out a map even though she said she did not know the street name. He said that hes sure they would find it and placed his finger on a street that forced my mom to look down and she said I think thats it.. I think thats the name of the street!

She got in the the little white postal truck and he brought her right to the door of my house because it WAS the right street name. After she told me this story I asked her if she realized that postal trucks dont run routes on Sunday afternoons. We both believed she had some divine intervention that day and like juantoo said about entertaining strangers... you never know.

This is a bit outside of my normal area of interests, Biblical angels and demons, but I will share with you this movie: Frailty. My wife and I just watched it this weekend and I think that some of you posting to this thread would find it quite interesting. :)

FS, have you considered that perhaps the woman at the gas station was just a woman who was pissed off at what she viewed as an inappropriate display of Christian religion in a public place? How would you have felt if you were pumping gas and then suddenly, across the way, someone was proselytizing to a stranger about, say, witchcraft? Would that perhaps get under your skin? Would you feel compelled to respond? If so, would you consider yourself demonic? ;) Do you think that the proselytizing witch might feel that you are a hostile energetic force, as well, similar to how you and your mom perceived the woman in your story?

Shift the perspective a bit, see what happens. :)

I second that... amazing flick. Saw it a long time ago, should probably watch it again, come to think of it... Speaking of KlassiCs... 20,000 leagues under the sea just finished downloading... sweet.

Im not an unreasonable person. Im also not one to go into hysterics. Ive been a Christian for a long time and have dealt with anti-Christ mentality that is mean and hateful. But this was different it was more than an expression on her face which would have been rather pretty had it not been twisted in pure hate.

And if I overheared someone talking about witchcraft to someone else believe me I would not be reacting hatefully ... lol it wouldnt even make me mad. You dont think I hear stuff like that every single day??? Trust me I do.

I dont expect a non-believer to understand what happened.. if you believed in what I said you would be a believer... but I appreciate your attempt at trying to reason out my experience in a way you could understand :)

Well... even believers have different understanding and perspectives on such supernatural occurrences. For example, I don't believe in "ghosts". So when people say they saw a ghost, I just assume some demon or "Jinn" (as they are called in the Quran) was messing with them. Similarly, I do not know if pathless is a "believer", or a "non-believer", but lets remember that there are, I am sure, believers who do not believe in supernatural occurrences like the ones we are talking about here.

Some of my own experiences, those which were not witnessed by others, could easily be explained by others as my own imagination. Which is fine by me, as I don't really differentiate between the word "imagination" and "reality" to begin with ;)

yes I understand all that, c0de :)

but I suspect pathless was trying to be insulting given our prior history on this forum.. which is that same anti-christ mentality I was referring to in my response.

c'est la vie

Anyways Im not asking people to give alternative deas to my "experiences" Im perfectly capable of reasoning them out to my own satisfaction.

This thread was created the intention of sharing experiences and people are free to share but I would ask that people not talk down to those that do share because then it just gets ugly...

Thanks :)

Hey Faithful... no, I actually wasn't trying to be "insulting." I just wanted to offer an alternative perspective. :) I thought your response to my response was entirely appropriate, and I was proud of us both for being civil to one another. :) I do understand that this is a thread in the Christian forum for believers to discuss their experiences about angels and demons, and I understand that my input was uninvited and didn't fall within the stated intention of this thread.

You've gotten me thinking about the origins of the word "demon" however, and I may start another thread on the topic in a more general forum here.

Peace,
Pathless

There seems to me something about certain places. Two places I have lived in my travels are the source for most of my personal experiences with phantoms. Some were relatively benign, other than the shock factor. But on one occasion I even looked into the eyes of a being that was not flesh and blood, and I have every reason to believe it was not a benign entity.

I do not go looking for such beings, I am not a ghost hunter. I still have a great respect for what I do not understand. Sometimes circumstances come together in a way that allows one to see, even if one is not ready for the experience. I have seen entities that were "not there" and walked through them (the most well remembered was a dog sleeping in the hallway of a house I had just moved into) and felt an icy chill through my body. I have seen a "baby buggy" move apparently under its own power...and then move back to where it came from.

The most convincing experience to me was hearing a young girl screaming with delight while playing...at around three in the morning, playing in a hazardous junkyard that was a struggle to walk through in the broad daylight. In case somebody might think I was "just hearing things," two other people heard the same thing at the same time. Three corresponding witnesses to the same event.

I've not seen a lot, but I have seen enough that I am convinced there is something to the talk of a spirit dimension.

Yes, I remember that. And I thought the same thing.

LOL, that's why we are only a "little lower" than angles...we catch on fast...:D
